🎄Parent/ Family Newsletter🎅
December 4-15, 2023
Hola Familia!
Thank you for your continued support this first semester. We have appreciated your participation and engagement with our campus events and parent/ teacher conferences. I am confident that we will continue to grow as partners in support of your child's education!
While your children are on Winter Break, please continue to have them read 20 minutes a day. This is a great opportunity for families to have some quiet time and then talk about the books they are reading! For other tips on how to help your students with reading and math over the break, please contact your child's teacher.
On behalf of Highland Hills Elementary, we wish you a safe, restful, and joyous holiday season!
Love,
Ms. Cartwright
Principal, Highland Hills Elementary

Please remember that our campus attendance goal is 91%. Reaching our goal shows your support for our school and for your child’s education. Link: SAISD Calendar
For students with perfect attendance from 12/04 to 12/12, there will be a candy cane hunt as an attendance incentive on Wednesday, December 13th, our early release day. So, please help keep your child in school. We have assessments coming up, and there is more information below regarding MAP.

For any questions about your child’s grades, please contact his/her teacher.
Celebrating Teachers!
Our teachers have been working hard all year and we are THANKFUL for them! If you would like to show your appreciation for your child’s teacher, please feel free to send them a little gift/ treat the week of December 11th. I will be sending home a sheet with their “Favorites” via email, so that you have some ideas of what they like. This is not required, but a great way to show our appreciation for all they do every day!
