Homeroom Assignments

Homeroom assignments will be shared via email on Monday, August 8.

Who is this for? Parents/Guardians/Students who are NEW to Indian Grove School. New 1st grade families, new 2nd-5th grade families.


When is it? Tuesday, August 9 5:30 - 6:30pm


Where should we go? Enter cafeteria door #3.


What will we learn about? Arrival/dismissal, lunch/recess routines, building tour, general school rules, and time to ask questions.


What should we bring? Just the parent/guardian of your child and the student if you think the information /tour will help!

First Day of School - Wednesday, August 17

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures Information
  • First Day: Wednesday, August 17
  • Arrival: 8:30-8:45a (bell at 8:45a)
  • Tardy arrival through office: starts @8:50a
  • Dismissal: 1:40p*

The first day of school is an early dismissal day. Normal dismissal is 3:40pm.


Lunch

  • School Lunch - make sure you've opened and added money to a MealTime account for your child (see below)
  • Home Lunch - label the lunch box/bag with name and homeroom and label any containers if they're not disposable; your child can buy a milk if you've set up a MealTime account to purchase one (see below); practice with your younger children independently opening packages and containers.

Reminder that we are back to paid breakfast and lunch programs this school year. Instructions for adding funds to your student's MyMealTime account can be found here.

Kid Squad Registration Begins August 2

Kid Squad is a cooperative program between the River Trails Park District, School District #26, and Robert Frost Elementary. This program is available for parents who need Before and/or After School Care for their children in Kindergarten through 5th grades. This program meets at the Marvin Weiss Community Center. Online registration and parent manual are available at the Weiss Center or online at www.rtpd.org.

Community 5k with the Mount Prospect Police Department

Register to walk/run with our local police partners and many district teachers and administrators! If you aren't able to walk/run we'd love to see you along the route cheering!
