District 123 awarded certificate of excellence in financial reporting

The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) has awarded Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting (COE). ASBO International's COE recognizes districts that have met the program's high standards for financial reporting and transparency.

Muffins with the Misses

The PTA hosted its first Sward's Muffins with Misses event and what a great morning it was. Sward students invited a special misses in their life to enjoy a breakfast treat of muffins, coffee, and juice. As the school year begins it is always great to go over the school's rules and expectations. At times this can seem really repetitive for the older kids, but it is still an important part of the start of the school year.

Our Newest Hannum Bears

Our newest Hannum bears, the kindergarteners, are making their mark on Hannum. We are only a month into the school year and these students are showing everyone that their future is bright. Students in Miss Tully's class practiced their writing by writing whether they are a boy or girl.

Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 provides the opportunity for college students who are studying to become teachers to join our school learning communities. At Sward, we have the pleasure of hosting two student teachers in our Encore department. Ms. Cardner is partnering with Mrs. Schiestel's Physical Education classes.
