Veterans Day Program
We had a wonderful Veterans Day Program today!! Bridgewater students and staff did an amazing job of honoring our Veterans with presentations, songs, and a slide show. We want our Veterans to know that we will never forget the service they have provided to allow us the freedoms we have in our country! We had a house full of Veterans and guests this morning, and the many men and women in uniform let our students know that our Veterans are living among us and their entire family sacrifices for us. Thank you Veterans for your service to our city, state and country! We are free because of the brave service people! Below is the link to the slide show.
Former Bridgewater student, Aiden Hales, came to speak with our fifth-graders today. He took time to pose with 5th grade teachers Mrs. Holden and Mrs. DuChene. We are so proud of Aiden and his service!!
Free Concert for Children and Families:
This Sunday, November 12, the St. Olaf Orchestra is performing their annual Family Concert at 3:30pm in Boe Memorial Chapel at St. Olaf College! The family-friendly concert is a heartwarming tradition that attracts families from Northfield, the Twin Cities, and greater Minnesota areas. Music featured in the program will educate kids about classical music, get families dancing, and take audiences on an adventure to the Wizarding World. A favorite highlight of the concert will also return: children ages 6-13 can enter a contest to conduct the award-winning St. Olaf Orchestra in Rossini’s famous William Tell Overture, all by themselves.
The Northfield duo Louis and Dan and the Invisible Band, whose witty musical offerings delight curious kids and their discerning parents, will make a return appearance with music orchestrated by St. Olaf senior Louis Dhoore.
This concert is open to the public and free of charge!

Northfield High School Theater Presents The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
Nov. 4, 5, 10, 12 at 7:30 PM, Nov. 6 and 13 at 2:00 PM in the NHS Auditorium
Tickets $7 for Adults, $5 for Students, Seniors, available at the door
Based on Kate DiCamillo’s beautiful novel of the same name.
Edward Tulane is an expensive toy rabbit made of china. He is loved by a little girl named Abilene, but Edward doesn’t care. He is vain and self-centered. He has no interest in anyone other than himself. On an ocean voyage, Edward is accidentally thrown overboard and sinks to the bottom of the sea. So begins his journey—a journey over which he has no control, for he is a toy rabbit. He can neither move nor speak. As years pass by, Edward meets many different people in many different situations. Through this miraculous journey, Edward learns what it is to love, what it is to lose that love, and how to find the courage to love again. This play is an intimate storytelling piece, a theatrical tour de force for its ensemble of actors and musicians.
Bridgewater 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade students saw this presentation last week. Kate DiCamillo will also be at the Content Bookstore downtown Northfield during the Winter Walk in December!
Grandparents/Special Person Day
We will be celebrating Grandparents/Special Person Day on Tuesday, November 22nd. You will receive information from your child’s teacher regarding the specific times and activities. We will provide coffee for our special guests. The parking lot will be full, and we will allow grandparents to park in the parking lots, the fire lane and the bus loop as long as cars are moved by 3:10 pm, in time for dismissal. Please don’t forget to notify your child’s teacher if you are allowing grandpa, grandma or special person to take your child home with them; we cannot allow them to go without your permission.

Community School
Hello Families!
Session Two Update:
The second session of Community School will begin on January 3rd, 2023! We will have brand new club options that we think students will love. We will be sending out the registration link in early December to register for the second session, so stay tuned!
After School Programs:
Some highlights from this week in after school clubs were playing board games with seniors from FiftyNorth, experimenting while making slime and making fashionable, but encouraging buttons! Check out some of the pictures from this week below!
Evening Program:
What an amazing turnout we had last Wednesday evening! Many thanks to Snake Discovery for teaching us about different reptiles that were brought in. We even had some brave kiddos hold a boa constrictor!
We hope everyone enjoyed the evening!
Next week River Bend Nature Center will be back for their next session about turkeys! Gobble gobble! It's that time of year when turkeys are out foraging for food and are more noticeable because of their feathers and odd body shapes. Come learn about these funny-looking birds with a River Bend naturalist.
As always, please follow us on Facebook here for Community School updates and pictures!
