HS ONLY: MANDATORY State Reporting - Information Needed!
This is a State Mandated Requirement!
DEADLINE May 15!
As a condition for Kansas to receive Perkins funding for the improvement of CTE pathways, there are eight core indicator percentages that Kansas school districts and KSDE must meet or exceed in a federal report each year. This data is collected in Pathways currently at the end of each school year. One of the core indicators involves the Industry Recognized Certifications data (K-PAC Report) where we report the students in our district who have earned an incentivized credential and CTE certification or assessments during the school year. The incentivized credentials are part of the Excel in CTE initiative and is intended to more fully meet the demands of the Kansas workforce which count toward postsecondary preparation. As a school district, we are REQUIRED as part of state mandated reporting to submit a list of ALL students who have completed and passed certifications in a CTE related field.
PRECISION EXAMS does not need to be reported using this form as they are end of course assessments and not end of pathway.
Please access the Google Form by clicking HERE (or type the following link into your web browser: https://bit.ly/2ElHvUn). You will need to be logged into your Olathe Google For Educators account (GAFE) to upload copies of the student certificates. Please make sure you are logged in prior to trying to access the form.
Information you will need before accessing the form:
- Student First & Last Name
- Student DOB
- Student Olathe ID #
- Home school student attends (if out of district – please actual school. i.e. BV North)
- Grade level during 2018-19
- Name & 4-digit code of the certification test (reference spreadsheet link: https://bit.ly/2CztP6g)
- Does the Certification/test qualify for Excel in CTE (reference spreadsheet link: https://bit.ly/2CztP6g)
- Actual copies of the student certification earned (only applies for certifications which qualify for Excel in CTE); NOTE: the state auditor needs verification of certifications earned. Please scan copies of the actual certificate earned and save as a PDF, Word doc or JPG to upload on the appropriate question.
Please contact Barbra Gonzales with any questions you may have.
Thank you for helping us track all certifications being implemented within our district and helping to advance our postsecondary success measures!
Thank you,
CTE Administration

Summer Educator Externships
Are you interested in working outside of education this summer expanding your knowledge and skills about businesses and organizations? Why not consider applying for a summer externship. Externships are for 1 week during June or July (may apply for up to 2 externships per summer). A stipend of $600 is provided to educators involved in an educator externship. Eligible applicants are current high school CTE and/or 21st Century Academy instructors and CTE-Career Counselors. Deadline to apply is April 15, 2019.
Past participants rave about the experience and the impact it has on their teaching/classroom! From this experience educators will have:
- An informed perspective of the workplace/community
- An accurate reflection of school as preparation for the workplace and civic life
- An understanding through reflection of what works and what does not work
- A clearer understanding of the connection of the workplace to curriculum and what is taught in the classroom.
