Evergreen Elementary School will be holding in person and virtual Zoom Parent/Teacher Conferences. On Thursday, November 3rd, conferences will be in person from 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM. Monday, November 7th, conferences will be in person from 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM. Thursday, November 10th, from 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM conferences will be virtual only.

Evergreen Elementary School will be using SignUpGenius to schedule all conferences. The scheduling window will open on Tuesday, October 11th, at 8:30 AM. The sign up with close on November 1st. Please refer to the instructions listed below to schedule your conferences online.

It is necessary to know who your child’s teachers are prior to signing up for conferences. Please refer to PowerSchool for a listing of your child’s teachers.

All conferences are scheduled online by doing the following:

1. Access the Benjamin District website: www.bendist25.org

2. Along the top of the page, click Schools and choose Evergreen Elementary School from the drop down menu

3. Scroll to the middle of the page and click the web button for SignUpGenius in the Upcoming News box

4. Click the desired conference group tab at the top

5. Teachers are listed on the left side, click on Sign Up in the date and time slot desired

6. Click Submit and Sign Up at the bottom, you will be asked to enter the student’s name, your first and last name and an email address

7. Click Sign Up Now

8. To sign up for another conference, click Back to Sign Up

Each conference is limited to 20 minutes for Kindergarten-4th grade and 15 minutes for preschool. You will receive a confirmation via email of your date and time from SignUpGenius. You may also print your schedule. If you are unable to secure a conference time for a certain teacher, please email or call that teacher to make other arrangements. If you would like a conference with our special area teachers (art, music, PE, technology) please contact that teacher directly.

Benjamin School District 25 continues to monitor students and staff for signs and symptoms of COVID. All symptomatic individuals with COVID-like symptoms should complete a COVID test for the safety of your family and others. We continue to accept the use of home tests. After testing your student, please make sure to write your child's name, date of birth, and the test date on the results before emailing a picture to us. You will receive an email from the health office staff so you know where to send the information to. Our email addresses are also on the school website. If your student has a fever, diarrhea or vomiting, they need to be symptom-free for 24 hours without medication before they can return to school. The steps to take can be found on the school website for your reference. As we approach the cold and flu season, we recommend consulting with your student's physician when they are feeling unwell. It is also time to contact your child's physician to discuss the administration of the flu shot and any updated booster shots for COVID.

The State of Illinois has mandatory health requirements in place for certain grades that are due by October 15th of each school year. If your student is new to the state of IL or preschool, they need a physical and all required immunizations to be turned into the health office by October 15th or they will not be allowed school entry on Monday, October 17th until the documents are on file. If your student is enrolled in kindergarten or sixth grade, then they need a physical and all required immunizations to be turned into the health office by October 15th or they will not be allowed school entry on Monday, October 17th until the documents are on file. All mandatory eye exams for kindergarten students and new students to the state of IL should be turned in by October 15th; there is no exclusion for this exam. All mandatory dental exams for kindergarten, second grade, sixth grade, and new students to IL should be turned in by May 15th; there is no exclusion for this exam. Notices for missing requirements have gone out in the mail. If you have not received a notice, then your student has met the mandatory requirements and we do not need anything else for your student at this time.

The first hot lunch of the year is on Wednesday, October 12th! Thank you to the PTA for organizing this for our students!

Due to our early release and half-day, please notify the office and your child's classroom teacher if your child's normal routine is different on these days.

All students arriving after 8:30 will need to come into the office with a parent to sign in. All students arriving after 8:30 are marked tardy.

October 10th: NO SCHOOL

October 12th: Early Release (2:00: Kindergarten, 2:15: 1-4)

October 14th: Half-Day (11:40: K-4)

Even if you are accompanying your child, please do not arrive to school before 8:15.

Please no parking in the parking lot from 8:00-8:30. This includes all Evergreen preschool, Best Buddy Preschool and all other Evergreen parents. If you would like to walk your child to their teacher please park across the street and walk over. Please do not park along the grass area in our back parking lot. We can not block that drive thru lane at any time. Thank you for your understanding.

If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason, please call the Evergreen Office, 630-876-7810, to report your child's absence no later than 8:00 AM the day of the absence.

When you open this newsletter on a desktop computer, there is a button on the right hand side of the newsletter. This will give you a drop down menu to choose the language you need!
