December 25-Jan. 8th - Holiday Break

Join us beginning on December 6th for our 12 Days of Christmas daily fun with dress-up themes for all of our Bulldogs! The flyer is included for early planning ahead!

You are invited to participate in RJ Richey Elementary School’s Gingerbread House-Making Competition! All students are eligible to participate.

Please submit your gingerbread house to the Fine Arts room by Wednesday, December 13th!

Guidelines:

• Gingerbread houses must be submitted on a sturdy platform, such as plywood, cardboard, or a cake board.
• Gingerbread houses must be created using ENTIRELY EDIBLE ingredients.
• Gingerbread houses to be ranked on originality, structure, and attention to detail.
• 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners to be chosen! Gingerbread houses to be ranked by a guest judge.

o Winners to be announced before students leave for Christmas Break!

RJ Richey Elementary School Honor Choir presents THE GREAT BIG Holiday Bake Off A Confectionary Christmas Musical

Please join us on December 14th at 5:00pm in the Fine Arts Room for a Christmas musical featuring RJ Richey Honor Choir!

Our RJ Adventure Dash Fun Run has been rescheduled for Monday, December 11th!

Adventure Dash Fun Run Day:

9:00-10:00: 4th grade Fun Run

11:00-12:00: 5th grade Fun Run

12:30-1:30: 3rd grade Fun Run

*Parents are welcome to join to cheer on your student on the Fun Run Field. All visitors will need to check-in at the front office to receive a visitor's pass to attend the event on the field.

*Please send your child with an extra change of clothes / and appropriate shoes for the fun run event!

Thank you to our RJ families for all of your donations and encouragement of our Bulldogs for our Adventure Dash this year! Our Bulldogs had a blast with the leadership lessons and can't wait to run!

The Top Classes were:

3rd grade: Chapa w/ $2,657.25

4th grade: Brewer w/ $2,324.42 & Dillard w/ $2,115.00

5th grade: Boettcher w/ $1,788

Thank you for supporting RJ PTO to help fund field trips, student and teacher incentives, and campus events!

Congratulations to these Bulldogs that had PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the second Six-Weeks!

We celebrated them at RJ with a Perfect Attendance Party, Donuts, and Habit Huddle Grade Level photo!

We LOVE rewarding our Bulldogs for how they model and exhibit Spirit, Pride, and Honor at RJ! This means students are "caught with character," have GREAT attendance, constantly make improvements and work to excel academically, and make AWESOME choices by applying the 7 Habits to their daily school life at RJ!

As a reminder, be sure to check out the parent letter about our RJ Core Values and what Spirit, Pride, and Honor looks like in action with our Matrix that includes attendance and the 7 Habits in Leader in Me. You can help encourage your student and talk to them about the Core Values at home as well.

Each Six-Weeks, students have the option to earn more and more tickets for prizes of their choice!

We are looking forward to celebrating many more GREAT RJ successes with our next Six Weeks drawings at the end of this semester that include:

We are on a mission at RJ Richey to have 98% attendance rate! During our weeks in November, it was the first month that we've had a weekly attendance below 95%....help us finish this six-weeks strong and get above 95% on our way to 98%!

Every student, Every Day....matters!

Submit an email on the same day as the transportation change request by 1:30 p.m. to rjr-transportation@burnetcisd.net.

Include the following details in the email:

• Student’s full name
• Student’s grade level
• Student’s homeroom teacher
• The transportation change you want made for today (bus rider to car rider or car rider to bus rider)

Requests made after 1:30pm will not be processed. Notes, phone calls, text messages and emails sent to any other email will not be processed.

What is a Staff Shout Out? A Shout Out is a special recognition that acknowledges a District staff member who has demonstrated a special effort, an outstanding job, caring customer service, a project of high quality workmanship, a team mentality, and/or is helping students CRAFT the FUTURE.

Who can submit a Staff Shout Out? Students, parents, teachers, auxiliary staff, coworkers, and all community members. Anyone can submit a Staff Shout Out!

Who can receive a Staff Shout Out? Any employee of Burnet CISD. EVERY staff member is an important part of our team!
