Congratulations to The Center for Advanced Studies and Research at Thousand Oaks High School student Ramon Moreno Jr. who was named a top 300 scholar in the 83rd Regeneron Science Talent Search, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors. The title of Ramon’s award-winning project is, “The Influence of Isonicotinamide on the Chronological Lifespan of Saccharomyces cerevisiae Strains.” Scholars were selected from 2,162 entrants, and they along with the schools they attend will each receive $2,000 awards. Ramon is currently in the running to be a finalist in the Society for Science hosted competition. Congratulations Ramon and TOHS!

Our new "Welcome to Class" video series highlights the hands-on learning and exciting lessons taking place inside our CVUSD classrooms. In this first installment, Haley Walker, Technology Integration Teacher on Special Assignment visits Julia Yesionek's 2nd grade classroom at Wildwood Elementary School to explore coding with robots!
A Snapshot of Upcoming CVUSD Advisory Council/Committee Meeting Dates
Parent engagement and participation continues to be a major priority of the CVUSD's Board of Education and leadership team. Family involvement is encouraged though many formal and informal organizations and activities: including our six parent advisory councils. Families are invited to join CVUSD administrators and teachers to learn more about the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten programs in the CVUSD by attending an upcoming Information Session on Monday, January 22nd at 6pm.

Information will be shared about TK and Kindergarten curriculum, registration requirements, enrollment processes and child care opportunities available on our CVUSD campuses.
This is a FREE online event and a great opportunity for families who would like to learn more about enrolling their child in TK or Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year.
