It is almost time to start the 2020-2021 school year! Fields Road staff will be returning to work (remotely) this week to prepare for the new school year. Please keep your eyes and ears open for additional information that will be coming from the school this week. Review the items in this current newsletter to prepare for the start of school. We are looking forward to a great school year!

It's time for students to find out who their teacher will be this school year! A postcard from grade level teams will arrive in your mail this week. Students will scratch off the sticker on the postcard to "reveal" who their homeroom teacher will be this school year. Our kindergarten students will have their Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday, August 27th, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. All students and their families will be invited to attend our Sneak Peek in the afternoon, on Friday, August 28th. The specific times for Sneak Peek will be shared soon. Students and families will be able to meet their new teachers and see their classrooms virtually! You will receive Zoom instructions from your teacher this week with instructions on how to join your class for the event. We can't wait to see you!

MCPS will be providing webinars to support parents and students on learning how to navigate the new parent portal, google classroom, zoom meetings, among other things. We encourage you to register for these webinars, so that you may familiarize yourself with distance learning and be ready for a successful school year.

Fields Road has a new phone number (240-740-7000). Our administrative and attendance secretaries will continue to work remotely at times. We will only have one phone line during those times. Please be patient with us. If you are not able to get through the first time, please try to call us again. You may also reach any of the office staff by email.

If your child has medications from last year, please call or email the school to set up a time to pick it up from the office.
