Greetings Jacket Family!
Jacket Family!
Greetings from BHS! We are only three weeks into this new semester, but there's still so much to celebrate! As our teachers continue to grow meaningful relationships with their classes, they have also begun their deep dive into their respective curriculums and practices. As it is progress report time, I suggest having a discussion with your students surrounding these areas. What does your student find challenging? Is there a particular part of the class he/she struggles with? What steps can your student and the teacher do to overcome this? Great starts with straight A's is always awesome, but knowing where the challenges are and developing plans to overcome them is an essential life skill.
I'd like to take a quick opportunity to also invite all of you to our School Improvement Council meeting. Its continued growth and support has really made an immediate impact in what we do here at BHS, and if you're curious about what we're up to or how you can make more of an impact, this is the place to be! Our next meeting will be February 5th at 6:15. Please call the school if you would like a virtual link. Hope to see you there! Take care!

Reminders from Nurse Sherrill:
Parents, please be advised that we are seeing an increased number of flu and strep cases here at BHS and are also still seeing COVID.
Please DO NOT send your student to school sick and ask them to come to the nursing office before school starts to get a note to come home. Excused nursing notes for students will only be given to those students who have fevers or for students who vomit in the nursing office.
During this time of year, simple things can make a big difference.:
1. DO NOT eat/drink after each other (even family members)
2. Cover your cough/sneezes
3. Wash your hands frequently during the school day
4. DO NOT touch your nose/mouth/face during the day
These simple things can help decrease the spread of germs.
BHS sees the most flu cases at the end of January and during the month of February each year. Please call me or email me if you have questions/concerns. It is always best practice to call me on the 1st or 2nd day your child is out of school and not wait a week or longer to discuss illnesses. Also, please contact me if your child is sick and you are having a hard time scheduling them a doctor's appointment. I will help get an appointment scheduled for you.
Thanks
