A message from our Upper Campus Head of School, Dr. Priscilla Noble
This semester is simply flying by. Every day we marvel at the great achievements in each and every area of learning. We are all very excited to take part in this year's GLOBE Trot on Friday. I would also like to draw your attention to some additional events that are coming up after Thanksgiving break.
Our Middle School Science Fair will take place on December 1. The students have been researching their topics of choice and are getting ready to share their findings. These middle school students are very creative and innovative.
On December 7 at 6pm, we will host 8th grade parents for a 'rising 9th grade information night'. We will discuss graduation, high school registration, and course requests.
We have been lucky to receive parent volunteers in different capacities again this year, as we transition away from Covid protocols. Students can once again participate in school wide competitions like Spelling Bee and Reading Bowl. If your student would like to take part in these activities, please reach out to your homeroom teacher for more information.
Friday was Veterans Day. We thanked our local heroes and members of the GLOBE community who have served, or are currently serving, in the armed forces, with a video presentation and this bulletin board display.
Below are some images of our teachers working together in professional learning. We have recently completed development in Responsive Classroom, Workshop Model, as well as our new math curriculum. We also shared some Hors-D’oeuvres in commemoration of Thanksgiving. Teachers have been busy ensuring maximum learning in every curricular area as well as taking the time to individually care for each student. We are very proud of each individual’s hard work!.
Wishing you all a fun, relaxing and safe Thanksgiving break!
In community,
Dr. Priscilla Noble
Head of School, Upper Campus

GLOBE Music
On Friday, November 4, GLOBE Band students Chastelyn Alvarado, Shani Banks, Caitlin Dorsey, Anya Mai, Hope Raymond, Carson Rosero, Marcel Santiago, and Jaycee Villalobos joined Lakeside High School Marching Band for their 8th grade night. Our GLOBE 8th grade students participated in a short rehearsal, rode the bus with the Lakeside Band to the football game, and performed with the band, along with students from Henderson Middle’s 8th grade band, both in the stands and on the field at halftime.

Spirit Night
Thanks to everyone who attended our spirit night at Defy last Thursday! Defy had a sudden change in management just a few days prior. Apparently the new manager did not know about our scheduled spirit night and told a few GLOBE families that there was no spirit night. He was incorrect, as we had a written agreement with them on file. Fortunately, the new manager did agree to honor the spirit night, and they are sending us the portion of the sales we had agreed to. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The 5th and 6th grade girls soccer team advanced to the regional finals a few nights ago. Our end-of-fall season soccer awards took place on Monday, and the boys’ and girls’ teams made it to the semifinals.
