Share Your Thoughts on Employee Wellness
How can 4J help you be healthy in body and mind?
The district is gathering feedback through a short online survey as it seeks to foster a workplace culture that best supports employee wellness. The survey is open through Monday, March 6.
The employee wellness survey, funded through a OEA Choice Trust grant, was initially administered in October 2020 and again in December 2021. The district is seeking input a third time to help assess how employee needs have changed in the last 15 months. The district wants to hear what wellness means to you, and how you want to engage with wellness in the district.
The survey does not collect names or email addresses, although employees will need to be signed in through their 4J Google account to access it. Individual responses will be kept confidential.
Questions? Contact your employee group's benefits coordinator. We are grateful for the time and insights you provide!
Take 10 with Dr. Dey: New High School Schedule
In an effort to enhance timely and meaningful communications, Dr. Dey will be hosting a series of recorded conversations speaking with 4J experts across our district to answer the top 10 questions in 10 minutes on hot topics!
The first in the series will feature answers to your questions about the ongoing high school scheduling process. Submit your question about the scheduling process here.
Reminder: Help Us Identify Student Success Strategies
Eugene School District 4J is seeking your help as it drafts a comprehensive plan that spells out how the district will unify, innovate and improve six major programs funded by state and federal dollars. Guiding that work are the Three Big Rocks, the trio of major priorities identified by Superintendent Andy Dey and the school board.
The district has identified three main outcomes it wants to achieve from this work as both the state planning effort, known as Integrated Guidance, and the Three Big Rocks share many similarities: Engaged Community, Equity Advanced and Well-Rounded Education.
The district has outlined various proposed strategies to help achieve each of these outcomes. We want to hear which of those strategies you believe will have the greatest impact on ensuring student success. There are many important strategies and limited funding available so we appreciate your help in prioritizing strategies that wisely invest those dollars in helping the greatest number of students.
Please take a moment to learn more about each outcome and to review the list of strategies to achieve each outcome at the following links. We look forward to reviewing your comments and suggestions.
• Engaged Community
• Equity Advanced
• Well-Rounded Education
The Next Step: Another Walking Challenge Starts Sunday
4J's benefits department is kicking off its next weekly movement challenge starting Sunday through 4J's Walker Tracker program, funded by a Oregon Education Association wellness grant.
The goal is to achieve the equivalent of 8,000 steps a day through walking or other physical activities, for a total of 56,000 steps from March 5–11. Two participants who sign up for the challenge will be randomly selected to receive a prize. Once you are registered online, click on the "Challenges" tab to select the "Peace & Quiet: Walk Your Way To Better Sleep" challenge to participate. Good luck!
