Welcome Back, Wranglers!
As you might have already seen on social media, we are implementing a new clear backpack policy this school year. You can find more information on this new policy in this newsletter below.
Last school year, we also implemented a new cell phone policy that we will be continuing into this school year. You had a lot of positive feedback from our parents, teachers, and even our students regarding our cell phone policy. There is also more information on that policy in this newsletter below as well.
As you may have heard, the waiver that allowed free breakfast and lunches for all students has expired. Beginning this year we will, again, be charging for breakfast and lunch. The good news is that, thanks to Federal assistance, we will NOT have to increase costs for student trays. To APPLY for reduced meals, and/or to PAY for meals, please visit the link found below in this newsletter.
Our mission is to make George Junior High School a “Destination Location.” We want students to WANT to be here. We want parents to WANT their students to be here. We want teachers to WANT to be here. We have a goal for ALL students to achieve at or above their potential. To continue to strengthen the bonds with our students, we want ALL students to participate in at least one extracurricular activity. Even if we have to create the opportunities, we will ensure that this happens.
Here at George, we will guarantee that your child will thrive in an environment built for their success, growth and development. We want to work with parents and other community stakeholders to provide an educational experience that is a springboard to achieving their long term goals and dreams.
We will create opportunities so that you can see, first-hand, why we are so excited about what our teachers do in the classrooms. Remember, we are on the same team and want the exact same thing: whatever is best for the students, specifically YOUR GJHS student.

Springdale Public Schools Acceptable Use Agreement (AUA)
Critical: Please fill out and submit your student's Acceptable Use Agreement (AUA) found below. We are asking all families to fill out this AUA form online prior to Tuesday, August 9th. This will help us to expedite the process of distributing Chromebooks to our students.
- This will allow your student to be issued a Chromebook and charger at any of our Chromebook our open house or on the first day of school. All students must have a signed AUA before they will be given a Chromebook.
- In this AUA, you will find a link to pay for the Springdale Device Protection Plan (SDPP), which is an optional Protection Plan for helping cover potential damage to a student's Chromebook. We highly encourage each student to take advantage of this extra protection to help keep Chromebook repair costs down.
Please note that if you signed the AUA in the Registration Gateway: Student Information Update that you will still need to fill out the GJHS Digital AUA below. Unfortunately we are unable to collect the data associated with the Student Information Update. We apologize for the inconvenience!
Acuerdo de uso aceptable de las escuelas públicas de Springdale (AUA)
Crítico: Complete y envíe el Acuerdo de uso aceptable (AUA) de su estudiante que se encuentra a continuación. Estamos pidiendo a todas las familias que completen este formulario AUA en línea antes del martes 9 de agosto. Esto nos ayudará a acelerar el proceso de distribución de Chromebooks a nuestros estudiantes.

Registration Gateway's Student Information Update
Critical: Before the first day of school on Monday, August 15, 2022.
Log onto Registration Gateway to complete your Student Information Update.
The USERNAME will be your students 10 digit Student ID & PASSWORD is student birthday (as an example, if student birthdate is January 1, 2022 you would type: 01/01/2022).
Update all personal information.
This process will take approximately 15 minutes and replaces the previous registration and health cards.
