2022 Book Club April - Dealing with Grief or Separation

I’ll Go and Come Back by Rajani LaRocca is the story of a family separated by a great distance. But, love can span any distance. This hopeful story will warm your heart even when you are separated from the ones you love.

We would like to welcome Mrs. Phillips to LW as she is covering for Mrs. Shambaugh while she is on maternity leave. Mrs. Phillips has been with the classroom for the last few weeks getting to know students and collaborating with Mrs. Shambaugh and Mrs. Bradshaw. She is also now a member of the Amistad house. We are happy to have her join the LW team!

April is National Poetry Month! This was created by the Academy of American Poets in April of 1996 and reminds us that poetry matters. This has become the largest literary celebration in the world with tens of millions marking poetry's important role in our culture.

Remember

I loved being able to have everyone eat in the same space AND sit on both sides of the table. It is the little things!

Gratitude

I'm grateful for book conversations with students and breaks that allow for everyone to rest and recharge.

Goals

I would like to continue working on my goal of reading more first chapters to 6th-8th graders and prepare the April book club.
