A Note from Dr. Hooks
Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,
Please be reminded that students will not have school on Monday, April 10, 2023. It is a DCPS Records and Professional Development Day for staff.
Thank you to the families who have already reenrolled. As you submit your forms, please be sure to include your proof of residency documentation or the forms cannot be fully processed. Be mindful that reenrolling in early April will significantly support maintaining small classroom sizes.
Per DCPS, following Spring Break, all students and school-based staff (including partner staff, school-based service providers, and Early Stages team members) will be expected to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test before returning to school on April 24, 2023, by uploading results to the centralized database. Hyde-Addison ES will send COVID test kits home with students by Thursday, April 13, 2023, to support families with this DCPS requirement.
Although the DCPS HVAC switchover has not been a significant issue at our school, we wanted to proactively share this correspondence from DCPS. Please see the attachment below. Additionally, if there is ever a school level issue, we already have systems in place to escalate for DCPS assistance and support our staff and students internally.
For resources and information about the District of Columbia Government’s coronavirus (COVID-19) response and recovery efforts, please visit coronavirus.dc.gov. Please visit dcpsreopenstrong.com for DCPS updates and resources.
Kindest Regards,
Dr. Calvin Hooks, Principal
Hyde-Addison Elementary School

Re-Enrollment Update!
Please note that many families who have submitted enrollment paperwork have additional paperwork, for example residency verification, that still needs to be submitted or errors that need to be corrected. If you receive an email regarding this and you have any questions about what needs to be done, call the main office or reach out to hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov so that we can help you make the necessary corrections.
