Class of 2019, Senior dues are $80. You are welcome to make payments of at least $20 as long as the full amount is paid by the due date. There will be no refunds. They include the Senior Breakfast, Senior Picnic, Senior T-shirt, and other apparel. If you are interested in participating in these activities, someone will be available outside of the cafeteria to collect these funds on October 2 & 16th, November 2nd & 16th, December 3 & 18th. No monies will be accepted after December. Please pay your dues before the deadline. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Willis in Room A203.
ASVAB Testing
The ASVAB will be administered at Cedar Shoals High School November 7, 2018 from 9 a.m. until Noon. The ASVAB is used to assist students with career exploration, identify a potential career path, and to determine which branch of the military you are qualified to enlist in. Please stop by the Counseling Office to sign up. It's FREE.
Junior Parent Night
Classic City Sound earns accolades!
Please join me in congratulating our marching band, the Classic City Sound, on a wonderful performance at the Georgia Contest of Champions at East Jackson Comprehensive High School on Saturday, October 13th. The band had a great showing and out of nine bands in classes A-AAA they placed third overall! The other results are below. This competition marked the end of our competition season. Please take a moment to let marching band students in your classes know how proud we are of them. They have put in a lot of hours of work, and it definitely showed up at our competition. Thank you all for your continued support of the Cedar Shoals Band Program!!

Blood Drive!
The Blood Drive will be Tuesday, October 30th from 8:30 until 2:00 p.m. in the AB200 commons area at Cedar Shoals High School. There is always a need for blood in this area so all of our donations will go to the nearby hospitals. A one unit donation can save 3 lives. You must be at least 16 years old and show a picture ID.

Walton EMC Scholarship
Please see the attached letter from Walton EMC that tells you about the Walton EMC Scholarship. Eleven scholarships in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded for 2019. The scholarship application postmark deadline is Friday, January 18, 2019.
La Unidad Latina Foundation Scholarship
UNG Cadet Scholarship
The state of Georgia funds 42 scholarship each year to Georgia students interested in joining the Georgia Army National Guard and the University of North Georgia Corps of Cadets. This means you can still have a full time job after graduating from college and be a part of the National Guard. Recipients of the University of North Georgia Military Scholarship (UNGMS) are even able to make $30,000-40,000 during their four years of college as a Cadet. This scholarship covers room, meals, tuition, books, uniforms, and fees and is worth over $70,000.

The Jack Cooke Kent Foundation Scholarship goes live on September 6th! This scholarship is open until November 20th. What type of candidates are they looking for? Cooke Scholarship recipients are selected from a nationwide applicant pool each year. As a minimum criteria, students must:
Plan to graduate from a U.S. high school in spring 2019
Intend to enroll full time in an accredited 4-year college in fall 2019
Earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above in high school
Receive a minimum SAT total of 1200 or ACT composite of 26
Demonstrate financial need. We will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000. Last year’s cohort of new scholarship recipients had a median family income of approximately $26,000.
Georgia Business Aviation Association Scholarship
Georgia Business Aviation Association has Scholarship opportunities available for those students interested in pursuing a Career in Business Aviation.
