Green JHS Weekly Bulletin for December 14th
Principal's Message
Dear E.O. GREEN Parents and Students,
Can you believe that we have reached our very last week of the academic instructional school year for 2020?! It has been an out of the ordinary school year for everyone. We appreciate all the support and the encouragement you continue to provide to your students.
This Friday, December 18 is a busy minimum day for all students. Every period will be filled with activities. It is super important that your student is present for every class session to participate in an informative Earthquake/Fire Evacuation Drill, Counselors’ presentation, and complete the California Healthy Kids Survey, CHKS in third session.
Parents, you have the great opportunity to enroll your student in the TRIO program. The program is open to all grades, and one requirement is that the student would be the first in their family to graduate college. TRIO guides them through their educational journey, including college. Please submit student recommendations. Please submit your application using the link below.
We continue to strive to provide student engagement opportunities. Therefore, an art contest opportunity will be coming after the winter break. Please encourage your student to participate in it. We appreciate our art teacher for taking the time to facilitate this activity. We celebrate that Ms. Thorpe and Ms. Cheresnosky continues to perform an amazing job with the WEB Where Everybody Belongs program! A grade level transitional support program.
Please join us every month during our parent meetings. The next parent workshop is this Wednesday, Dec. 16. See details below.
Encourage your student to keep up with their reading and math skills by reading for pleasure and visiting the Khan Academy.
The GREEN Staff wishes you and your family peace and blessings for the season. May the coming year be filled with happiness and health.
Attentively, Principal Melgoza-Vasquez

Atentamente,
Irma Melgoza-Vasquez
Directora
