Jostens will be here on Tuesday morning to meet with Sophomores and talk about class rings. The entire sophomore class will be called to the meeting so that everyone hears the same information. Students will bring packets home that day and can share information with their adults.

Any questions about class rings need to be directed to JOSTEN'S. Tristen and I don't work with the class rings.

Seniors, you should have access to your personal email addresses while logged in at school and on school machines. This is because you need to use your personal account when applying to jobs, colleges, and/or scholarships since your @slaterschools.net account will be disabled after you graduate.

Hint: If you don't already have a personal email, now's a good time to set one up. Make it something that will age well, like jessicapclements@gmail.com - not iloveharrystyles@aol.com. :)

Fall Sports (Cheer, Softball, Football) pictures will take place on Tuesday, September 13 at the ball fields. Softball has a home game that day. In order to make it all work, here's our schedule:

2:45 pm Softball pics at the Softball Field

Softball athletes will be dismissed at 2:25 pm

3:15 pm - Cheer pics at the Football Field

Cheerleaders will be dismissed at 2:55 pm

Each week, I'll highlight a Student/Parent Handbook policy. What makes it into the WILDCAT ROAR is usually something that I've been dealing with and/or I'm hoping to NOT have to deal with because all of our students and adults are aware of the policy. This week's Handbook Highlight is...

GOOD STANDING

To be considered a student in good standing, a student must not be in violation of the attendance policy, have outstanding discipline referrals OR appear on the current F list.

In order to participate in extracurricular events including (but not limited to): dances, field

trips, school-sanctioned sports events; a student must be in good standing.

Students in grades 6-12 that are not in good standing will have closed lunch and be required

to sign in daily in the cafeteria.

Students, Parents, and Staff can give a shout out to any Slater Schools employee! We'll make sure they receive a copy of it and will look for ways to share them with you throughout the year as well.

Some changes that you'll notice are:

• No WIP time for HS (Report to your First Hour class when you enter the building)
• More instructional time for 1-7 hours
• Longer lunch (4 minutes!)
• Later start time
• Later dismissal time

Some things are still the same:

• Still 4 minutes for passing
• Still FREE breakfast before school
• Still FREE lunch for every HS student
• Open lunch for HS students with permission and in good standing

If you earned a reserved parking spot for the 22-23 school year, you are able to paint your parking space. However, we're going to hold off on that until some repair and resealing work is complete. That date is TBA.
