School Lunch Letter
As we prepare for the upcoming school year we wanted to give you an update on our school meals program. School meals are no longer free to all students for the 2022-2023 school year. Breakfast, lunch, and milk are available to all students in grades K–4.
Meals:
Full Price
Breakfast $1.00
Lunch: $2.60
Reduced
Breakfast: $0.30
Lunch: $0.40
Milk: $.55
Applications for Free/Reduced Meals will be sent out the first day of school. However, you can also apply online by visiting this site: https://www.myschoolapps.com. We ask that all applications be returned. Please be sure to include your child’s name on the application and mark N/A if you are not applying.
Every child will have a school lunch account; you can either send money into school in an envelope marked with your child’s name, homeroom teacher, LASID Number (which can be found in the family portal in ASPEN), and amount included OR you can pay online at www.myschoolbucks.com. Keeping your balance paid in full is extremely important.
Meals are ordered through the classroom teacher each morning. Please communicate with your child if they are bringing a “home lunch” or buying a “school lunch”. If your child will be bringing lunch from home, then please write your child’s name inside their lunchbox in case it is lost.
For safety reasons, please do not send glass containers to school and make note that we are a peanut and nut free school.
If a student needs breakfast, then they can pick it up in our School Kitchen each morning.

Our Food Pantry is Always Open!
In keeping with the spirit of giving, our Feinstein Jr. Scholars are excited to start an in-school food pantry that our students and families can donate to and access when needed.
Please help us as we continue to support our community by sending in food items with your child from time to time. Please email
Mrs. Powell: powelld@portsmouthschoolsri.org or

Portsmouth’s Cub Scout Pack
Do you like hiking, camping, learning new skills and knowledge, or doing fun activities with kids your own age? If you answered YES, then scouting may be for you!
Portsmouth’s Cub Scout Pack 1 and Scouts BSA Troop 1 are always looking for new boys and girls that are interested in Cub Scouts or Boy Scouts. Students entering grades K thru 5th in the fall are eligible to join cub scouting, while those who are 11 years or older are eligible to join boy scouting. Currently Cub Scouts meet at the church hall at St. Barnabas on Thursday evenings at 6 pm, while the boy scouts meet at The Portuguese American Citizens Club on Power St, on Tuesdays at 6:30pm. You do not need to live in Portsmouth to join, but you are welcome. There may be a pack or troop closer to you that is more convenient.
Questions on cub scouting please contact Amy Nicodemus at beachgirl627@hotmail.com or for boy scouting Steve Benner at bennersm@cox.net .
