Liz Jeffers Returning to 5th Grade!
We are happy to announce that Liz Jeffers will be returning as the permanent 5th grade teacher. Liz was the long term substitute in 5th grade last spring. Her background includes:
Graduated with a BA from University of Richmond, double major in Spanish and International Studies, minor in History. Graduated with an MS from Our Lady of the Lake University in Nonprofit Management. Taught middle school social studies and Spanish. Taught preschool/early elementary Spanish. Worked in child welfare (specifically the foster care system). She has subbed in every single classroom at PPCS, as well as for Special Ed, the front office, and all the aids/paraprofessionals!
Liz was raised in Atlanta, GA, and later married her high school sweetheart (who
serves in the Air Force... so they've lived all over the place). They have two kids at
PPCS and one goofball dog. Her hobbies are cooking, hiking, camping, and
traveling.
Introducing our New PE Teacher!
Hello! My name is Isaac Ries, I have travelled a long way from home as I was born and raised in Wadena, a small town in Minnesota. From there I moved to Fargo, North Dakota to complete my BS in Education at North Dakota State University. I am excited to have moved from the Midwest into the western side of the states but, it is not my first experience with travelling as I have been doing so my entire life and have been to thirty-five different states. I enjoy travelling and with that I enjoy hiking and backpacking. Anything in the outdoors or in sports piques my interest, but I really enjoy swimming or biking, and love anything related to golf. This will be my first-year teaching, and I am excited to jump in and meet the kids and help them learn hands on about an active life and help them learn from experiences of hands-on adventures and the importance of the outdoors and physical activity.
Welcome To Our 1st Grade Long Term Substitute Liz Lincoln!
Liz Lincoln has a diverse professional background tied together by the common thread of education. After growing up in Montana's Flathead Valley she attended the University of Montana. Her first job after college took her to Silicon Valley to teach elementary school during the dotcom era.
Since then she has lived in Massachusetts, Indiana, Missouri, and a second stint in California! After leaving the classroom, she worked in educational software, teacher professional development, and in a public health non-profit. While in Massachusetts she received her Masters in Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education where she focused on technology integration in low and middle income countries. Most recently (since 2017) she has taught guided reading and mathematics online to pre-K to sixth grade students all across North America. Her international travel for work and fun, in addition to living in many different regions of the U.S., has influenced much of her perspective and approach to life and work.
Having had two children enrolled at PPCS, she is eager to engage in the school community as the substitute teacher covering maternity leave for Ms. K's first grade classroom. In her free time she enjoys cycling, traveling with her family, reading, skiing, and trying to win a game of pickleball.
Parent-Student Bus Ride
The Moscow School District Transportation Department will be offering an opportunity for you to ride the bus with your child prior to the first day of school. This program is available to students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. This will provide you and your child a chance to meet the bus driver and ask any questions you or your child may have about your student’s transportation schedule. Due to laws regarding children being transported in child safety seats, we will not be able to transport younger siblings of the students participating in this program.
Parent Ride Day will be Monday, August 28th, 2023. If you have any questions regarding this program or anything regarding your child’s transportation please call the transportation office at 882-3933.
