Walker Career Center weekly update - March 13, 2020
Culinary Arts named STATE RUNNER UP for FCCLA and ProStart!
Last weekend, the Culinary Arts FCCLA and ProStart team traveled to Munice to compete in the state competition. This group has been working hard all year to construct the perfect menu for the competition and their Caribbean themed blackened Salmon was able to bring them home the honors of State Runner Up against the states best! Amazingly, this group is comprised of only one senior so look for big things out of this group again next year.
Fashion Careers Has impressive showing at FCCLA
In addition to the Culinary Arts team, we had Two Fashion Careers students that participated in State FCCLA Leadership Conference in Muncie. These students were also able to participate in competitive events in many different related Family and Consumer Sciences areas. Imani Stokes earned a Bronze medal for her pants and top in Fashion Construction. Adrionna Jones earned a Silver for her athletic pants and sweatshirt in Fashion Construction. Congratulations to these impressive young ladies, they work hard at their craft and did an outstanding job representing Walker Career Center!
Top 10 showing for WEDM this week!
Congratulations to Rhianonna Adams for being named 6th place in the state out of over 100 hundred entries for Radio Live Newscast this week at UIndy. Make sure you check out some of her award winning work online at wedmfm.com
Walker Career Center Road Show
This week, the Walker Career Center Road Show was able to travel to Creston and Raymond Park to expose all of our 5th and 6th graders to over 20 potential Career Pathways that are available to them in Warren Township. What an amazing experience for everyone that was involved!
