Meeting called to order 6:35 pm
Rick Collett, President –
• How can we get more members to attend? Feedback is to clarify that the criteria for participating is that you are a parent/guardian of a student at Terra Linda.
• Thank you to Christy for the acknowledgement of the PTC purchases for students.
• One School One Book – we need a chairperson
• Book Fair is currently running until November 1st.
Christy Batsell, Principal –
• We want students to access book from the Terra Linda Library. Be sure to check out the Tiger Tale for more information. Here are four ways to get books:
o Place a hold on library books through students Destiny – pickup at Grab & Go
o Request a book bundle – pickup at Grab & Go
o Visit the Book Bus on Tuesdays
o Visit the Terra Linda Outdoor library on Wednesdays
• Name our tiger! Get your kids involved in naming our new Tiger. They can access the voting form in the Tiger Tale beginning October 30 – November 4th. The tiger’s name will be announced on November 6th!
Paul & Allison DeHaan, Treasurers –
• We received the last two field trip deposits that were outstanding from last spring. Thank you to Maria & Liz for your help! • The printable & online versions of the reimbursement form is available online.
Brittney Pineda, VP of Fundraising –
• The Jog-A-Thon has been postponed, will be revisited in the Spring, however, there other ways to support Terra Linda: o Box Tops for Education – there’s an app for that! Here’ how to use it:
▪ Down load the Box Top app > Find Terra Linda Elementary School > scan your receipts
o Amazon Smiles
o Dining for Dollars
o Donations to the PTC

• Facebook Pages
o The Facebook groups are up and running. If you are a Facebook user go to Facebook>Search Terra Linda Elementary>scroll to Groups by this page> choose your students grade level>answer the questions>you will be approved
• Committee Chairs:
o Dining for Dollars – Becky Seppala:
▪ Upcoming Dining for Dollars event is Saturday, November 7th from 4-8. You must show the flyer. We will receive 33% of the proceeds from just the Terra Linda family’s orders.
▪ Panda Express event is Thursday, December 10th all day. Just mention Terra Linda when you place your order. We will receive 20%.
▪ Other options include Handels Ice Cream, Spaghetti Factory, and possibly the Cascadia Tap House. If you have other suggestions, please contact Becky.
o T-Shirts – Rick Collett for Kelly Olson
▪ T-Shirts for staff can be ordered from Team Uniforms, located at: 12965 NW Cornell Rd, Portland, OR 97229
▪ When: Now through December 1
▪ What: $15 credit to purchase an item with a Terra Linda Logo
• Details: Visit Team Uniforms and let them know you are a Terra Linda Staff
member. You can choose any item for your logo. You will receive a $15 credit towards
your purchase from the PTC. Team Uniforms will call when your item is ready for pick
up- usually a day or two later.
▪ The bulk order of shirts for new students and kindergarteners will be ready soon as soon as Friday. I would plan for shirts to be available for pick up the week of November 2. I will deliver them to the school as soon as they are ready.
▪ Families that want Terra Linda gear can stop by Team Uniforms any time to purchase items. Youth shirts start at $10, adult shirts at $15. There are also options for sweatshirts and other items. There is no deadline for purchasing shirts. Items will be ready in one to two days.
o PE Equipment – Emily Struthers
▪ Students received their first PE equipment for their PE kits. K-2 received a beanbag; 3-5 received a tennis ball. Emily will continue to order supplies as needed for Mr. D’s lessons.
