Hedgcoxe Front Office Facts

Kindergarten through 2nd grade should be dropped off on the side drive, near the cafeteria.

3rd grade through 5th grade should be dropped off in the front drive, near the office.

If you have more than one drop off point, just pick the one that makes the most sense for your students to get to class most efficiently. If you have a Kindergarten and 5th, it makes more sense for the 5th grader to have to walk farther than the Kindergarten student, so drop off on the K-2 side.

***TIP*** There is usually no traffic on either side between 7:00-7:25 a.m. Please arrive early to avoid lines.

If you are dropping off after the start of the day due to an appointment, please fill out the following form to sign your student(s) in.

We understand that students will still be absent from time to time. Please be sure to follow the guidelines below:

Whether your student is Face to Face, or @home- if they are not joining the class first thing in the morning, please call the Child Safe Line or e-mail your @home teacher.

Child Safe Line- 469-752-1700...option 1 is for English...then option 3 to leave a message.

On the Child Safe Line, leave your students name and the reason that they are absent. Please leave details about symptoms if possible. We are charged with tracking COVID symptoms, so the more information you can give us, the better.

If your student is absent from school and does not participate at home online, we need absence notes within 3 days. You can send a written note, a doctor's note, a teledoc appointment slip, and this year we also accept an e-mail excuse from the parent portal e-mail address. Make sure to include the date, reason for the absence, and parent signature.

NO NOTES OR E-MAILS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THREE DAYS.

WALKERS

Kindergarten students are dismissed from the front door.

First grade are dismissed from the side drive door near the circular garden at the front of the side drive carpool lane.

Grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 are dismissed from their grade level doors and walk out toward the front of the building.

CARPOOL

Kindergarten through second grade carpool is on the side drive.

Third grade through fifth grade is in the front drive.

If you have a blend of students, come to the front drive.

DO NOT DRIVE INTO EITHER CARPOOL LANE WITHOUT A CARPOOL TAG. PARK ON THE STREET AND WALK UP.
