Hi Sierra Families,

This month we are starting our next unit in our Social-Emotional-Learning curriculum. It is called Communicating with Each Other. This unit explores a range of interpersonal communication skills including listening and speaking in ways that support others and build harmonious communities. Students learn about:

• watching and listening attentively to understand and respond
• conversation skills
• communicating in different settings
• when and how to speak up
• communicating for collaboration

Some vocabulary that will be used is:

• conversation
• help
• listening
• share
• teamwork

Hello Dragons!

So glad to be back with you all! We are now in the second half of the school year and really need to make improvements in getting our books returned. If you received an email about a missing or lost book, you may still return it and any lost book fines will be removed. Hoping that those books still out will find their way back to our library.

On another note, our library received a beautiful gift of books from The Community Classroom committee of the El Dorado Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Sally N. Long Johns, El Dorado County Regent, dropped them off for some of our students to learn more about American history. We are so fortunate to have such an amazing community that really does treasure the importance of reading. Thank you DAR!

Team Sierra is SO excited to announce brand new events to kick off the new year.

SAVE THE DATES:

Saturday, February 24th 6:30-8:30pm: Rollin’ with my homies- Boys bring your favorite lady (Mom, Grandma, Aunt, older sister, etc) for a GAME NIGHT and snacks.

Saturday, March 16th 6:30-8:30pm: A Knight to Remember, Girls bring your favorite guy (Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, older brother, etc) for a night of dancing and desserts.
