2. Today is the End of Quarter 1. Quarter 2 begins on October 18th. Report Cards will be available on October 22nd after 1:00 p.m in the Student Progress Center on PowerSchool Parent. Please contact support@gcsc.k12.in.us if you have any questions about accessing the report cards
3. Parent Teacher Conferences are on October 25 and 27 from 3:45-7:30 pm .
These can be in-person or virtual conferences (parents' choice).

All teachers are listed on this site. Parents can click on the "View" button to see the schedule for an individual teacher that they would like to meet with. They will then see all of the available time slots for October 25 and for October 27. To sign up, they should click the green "Sign Up" button next to the time slot they want. They will enter their email address, their name, and their student's name.
Teachers will reach out to the parents who sign up to discuss whether they want an in-person or virtual conference.
4. Student pictures were passed out today. If your child missed our school picture day, or needs a new picture, mark your calendar for our RETAKE DAY on October 26th.
5. Our GCJHS Family Literacy Night will take place on October 28th (see flyer below for more details). We are accepting donations for Door Prizes and also in need of a sponsor for our snack that night (students will be making s’mores). Please contact Mr. Davis if you are interested in learning more about this perfect opportunity to promote your company/business while helping us create a special event for our kids!
6. We will have a Scholastic Book Fair in our school library from October 25 - November 5th. More information to follow. Online orders can begin on October 4th. Click here for more information.
7. Are you in need of Food Support? Check out the Food Support Resources 2021-2022 document in the download section below to find locations and times for specific food support.
8. STUDENT OF THE MONTH: During the school year teachers will each select one student they feel exemplifies our Cougar Code . . . . RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE and READY TO LEARN. Below you will find a list of those students who were recognized for August and September.
9. 7th Grade Parents: Fall NWEA Student Progress reports are now available in the Student Progress Center on PowerSchool Parent. Please contact support@gcsc.k12.in.us if you have any questions about accessing the reports. Parent Teacher Conferences are a great opportunity to learn more about how your child’s scores relate to their current learning in the classroom. 10. Your 2021 County and Conference champion GCJH wrestling team is having a call out meeting Tuesday October 19th from 7-8pm in the cafeteria. Bring your parents and learn what Cougar wrestling is all about. We need young men and young women to fill out our team as we defend our titles against County and Conference challengers. 11. BOYS BASKETBALL: 7th and 8th grade tryouts are Monday and Tuesday when we return from break . . . October 18th & 19th. Contact Coach Graupner if you have questions jgraupner@gcsc.k12.in.us.

TECH Tips . . .
iPad Charging issues
Many students are complaining about charging issues such as only charging to 20 - 30%.
This could be because they are not using the 12v charging block provided to them at the beginning of the year.
Following is an example of the charging brick necessary to charge an ipad 7.
If a student is using any charging brick with less voltage, they will not get a full charge.

Use the following to ensure YouTube plays a Classroom video.
1. Settings / Safari / Clear History and Website Data
2. Go to Safari / Type in: classroom.google.com in the URL
3. Access assigned YouTube content / Tap the aA in URL / Request Desktop Site

Classroom App Issues
If students have noticed that the Google Classroom App is not reliable at times the can do the following to bypass the Classroom App.
1. Go to Safari
2. Enter in URL: classroom.google.com
3. Ensure student is signed in as GCSC student account.
4. Tap the aA in url and select Request Desktop Site
