Boy's Basketball is CONFERENCE CHAMPS!!!
The boy's basketball team beat North Fond Du Lac Tuesday night, making Omro overall Flyway Conference Champs, the first since the 2015-2016 season, and first OUTRIGHT Champs since the 2011-2012 season!! Congratulations to you all on this incredible season!!
Congratulations Omro Wrestlers!!
Congratulations Omro Wrestling Sectional Qualifiers!! Mason Boerner, Cade Sowls, Jason La Kosh, Xander Sowls and AndyBoi Hernandez have advanced to sectionals which will be held at Dodgeland High School in Juneau, Wisconsin on Saturday, February 17. Way to go!!
Lady Foxes Advance
Huge Omro Congratulations to our Omro Lady Foxes, who finished 2nd in the Conference and will host Little Chute next Tuesday, February 20! Go Get em', Lady Foxes!!
Wisconsin Beef Council Awards Grant
Congratulations to Mrs. Morse, Omro High School Culinary Arts teacher for being awarded a $200 Beef and Veal in the Classroom Grant to be utilized for the purchase of beef products during the spring 2024 semester! We look forward to seeing what you and your students create in the classroom!
Teacher Appreciation Night at Girl's Basketball Game Thursday
Omro students thanked some of their most influential teachers at Thursday night's girl's basketball game. Photo taken by the girl's basketball coach showcases a few of those teachers that were honored. And, some were seeing double as students dressed up as their favorites!! Check it out!

American Legion Oratorical Contest
Congratulations to the sophomore students who participated in the American Legion Oratorical Contest on Saturday, February 10! They each wrote and presented an eight to ten minute speech having to do with the constitution. Their topics included: flag burning, women's rights, and First Amendment rights in the NHL.
Congratulations to the third place winner, Leila Martinez; second place winner, Macayla Moore; and first place winner, Lexi Rilling. They each did a fabulous job. Their effort and enthusiasm was noticeable. Lexi will advance to the county level next weekend, February 17 at the Oshkosh American Legion Post 70. Congratulations, ladies!
State Represenative Michael Schraa Visits Civics Class
State Representative Michael Schraa (from our local District 53rd Assembly) came to speak in Ms. Jentz's Civics classes. After recently wrapping up their unit on State and Local Government, students got the opportunity to learn more about the daily life of a state representative, about legislative processes and what they are currently working on in the capital, and some Q&A time with Rep. Schraa. He also brought copies of this years Wisconsin Blue Book for students to take for free. Huge thank you to Rep. Schraa for taking time out of his schedule to enrich our students learning about State and Local Government!
Book Club Receives Journals
Book Club members received their long awaited book journals! Huge thank you to student Sadie VandenLangenberg and Mrs. Gee for designing and creating a few different options. Members chose a design and with our club fundraising this school year, all costs were covered!

Upcoming WIAA Tournaments and Entrance Fees
We are so proud of our student athletes this season for all of their hard work and successes!! With these successes come playoff tournaments and playoff games. Under WIAA, No Passes or Student ID's are allowed for WIAA Tournament Events. All Students, Spectators will have to pay the following prices to attend WIAA Basketball Regional Events:

Key Club Promotes Heart Health Awareness Month 2024
February is Heart Health Month; an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about heart health and cardiovascular diseases. It serves as a reminder to prioritize heart-healthy lifestyles, learn about heart disease prevention, and support those affected by cardiovascular conditions.
One of the best ways to help keep your heart healthy is by choosing healthy foods. The foods you eat can have a big impact on protecting your heart. The Key Club has collected some recipes full of heart healthy ingredients!
Final State Test for Battle of the Books Representatives
Battle of the Books - Liam Horton, Kayannah Luther, & Sadie VandenLangeberg will be representing Omro High School for the Final State Test for Battle of the Books. They will be taking the test next week, February 20th. Results for how they place among other High Schools throughout WI will be announced in early March! Good Luck Team!
Juniors and Parents:
You are invited to attend Omro High School’s Junior Night on Tuesday, February 20th at 6 p.m.
in the Media Center. This is a great opportunity for juniors and their parents to learn more
about preparing for life after high school. Rachel Williams, OHS Counselor, will share
information about ACT, ACT prep, college/tech school applications, transcripts, local
scholarships, FAFSA and campus visits.
Following that, representatives from UW System Colleges, Private Colleges, Technical Colleges,
Youth Apprenticeship and Military will give a brief 5 minute overview on the admission process,
highlights and your next steps. After the formal presentation, the representatives will be spread
out in the Media Center to talk with students and parents individually and in small groups.

The WIAA has partnered with Dick's Sporting Goods and will be offering 20% off purchases made from February 23-25. Please feel free to share the coupon with whoever may be planning on purchasing for upcoming spring sports.
Donated Items
We have been blessed with a donation of items from Oshkosh Mid-Morning Kiwanis Club as part of “Project Undercover”. This project started with the Oshkosh schools and this year the Oshkosh Mid-Morning Kiwanis dedicated $21,000 to provide undergarments and socks to those in need. Omro Schools were included in this donation this year as well. These items are available to ALL students and come in a variety of sizes and styles. If you are interested in your child receiving any of these items, please contact your child’s school counselor no later than March 1st with what they need and the size(s) and we will discreetly package up what your child needs for them to take.

Notice of Annual Three-Year-Old Screening
The School District of Omro will be conducting a three-year-old developmental screening on Monday, February 26, 2024 at HB Patch Elementary from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children who will turn 3 years of age by September 1, 2024 and reside within the School District of Omro boundaries are eligible to be screened. The screening is offered annually to look at the areas of fine and gross motor skills, basic school readiness skills, speech sound production and communication. If a child is found to have significant delays after being further evaluated, programming such as the Early Childhood program or Speech and Language therapy may be recommended.
A letter and questionnaire about children’s development were sent to parents of children who are on the district's census list and within the screening age. If you did not receive a letter and questionnaire for your child, please contact Jaime Ellison at (920) 303-2300 x2249 or complete the screening questionnaire online at https://www.asqonline.com/family/5b4d1d. Appointments are needed to attend the screening. Please note that we do not screen children who do not currently live within the School District of Omro boundaries, even if you intend to apply for open enrollment for your child in the future. Contact your district of residence to inquire about their screening process.

All School Musical - Wizard of Oz - Save the Dates!
Omro School District will be presenting an all schools musical, Wizard of Oz.
The show will take place in the Omro High School PAC on March 15th @ 7:00pm and March 16th @ 2:00pm and 7:00pm. Stay tuned for more information regarding tickets.

Work Permits Are Available ONLINE ONLY
A parent can access the the work permit site using these instructions. Payment is made directly to the department through the application, using a credit or debit card or by ACH direct withdrawal. Once the permit application process is complete, the Department mails a paper copy of the permit directly to the employer. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact by email at workpermits@dwd.wisconsin.gov.

Well Badger Resource Center is an information and referral (I&R) service for Wisconsin individuals and families. Information and referral services create and maintain databases of programs and services, and then make sure, through a variety of channels and outreach, that you and others in your community know about those services.
Well Badger is a one-stop connection to community, social, health, and government programs and resources — so you can find what you need, when you need it.
The Navigator is a free, confidential, online tool designed to help parents, caregivers, and professionals navigate mental and behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and young adults under the age of 21! Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy (WALLECA)
For juniors and seniors who are interested in working in law enforcement or related field. WALLECA is a 5 day camp that offers physical fitness training, class room instruction and hands on experiences. The 2024 academy is scheduled for July 29- August 2, 2024 at the Wisconsin State Patrol Training Academy at Fort McCoy. The academy is totally FREE - cadets stay in the dorms at the academy and all meals and supplies are furnished.

Job Description: We are seeking a responsible and attentive lifeguard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to ensure the safety of our guests while they enjoy our facilities. The lifeguard will be responsible for monitoring the pool area, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies. The candidate must be able to work well in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.
Job Requirements:
15 years old (16 to be a swim instructor)
Lifeguard certification
