Week of February 20
I hope everyone enjoyed your 3-day weekend and coming back refreshed for our short week!
Tuesday, February 21st, we welcome a representative from Grand Canyon University to share opportunities with staff. Stop by the staff lounge from 11-1 and enjoy some free pizza! There is no commitment or requirement for any staff member.
A big Shout-Out and Thank You to Rachel Hellman and the participation of our PTA to organize a successful food delivery. Thank you, Small Things Matter, for donating fresh food for 50 families. Huge success!! Friday, March 3rd will be the next give-away.
Virtual Learning Preparation
Although it seems unlikely with this warm weather that we will have to have virtual learning on a snow day this year, we still are required to prepare.
Please engage in the following steps:
- All staff working with students in some capacity, create a reoccurring zoom mtg and link your zoom link to the word “join” next to your name on the spreadsheet below. Also copy/paste the meeting ID and passcode. MHES Zoom Links 22-23
- All classroom teachers and specialists (including Autism) activate a myMCPS Classroom page with your zoom link, meeting ID and passcode displayed on the front page.
- Make sure all students have access and know how to get to your classroom page if needed.
Thank you

Please Share Parent Survey on Class Dojo
Although this is in the Mustang Weekly and we will share on Dojo, it will help get more participants if teachers share this on Class Dojo as well. Just copy/paste from below:
It is important for the administration to get feedback from families of Meadow Hall ES regarding the school year. We ask that one family member complete the survey for your family. We will use the feedback given to continue to address the needs of students and families at MHES. We thank you all in advance for your support and feedback! The surveys will close on February 28, 2023.

"BOOKS FOR ALL!" BOOK COLLECTION
The "Books for All!" Book Collection wraps up Tuesday, February 21. Books that are collected will be used for the following purposes:
· The week before spring break, students will have the opportunity to "shop" for a book to read over spring break. Each child will get to choose a free book, and it will be theirs to keep. Teachers will also have the opportunity to select a few books each to add to their classroom library.
· In our Fall 2023 Book Fair, each child will be able to select a book for free, so that everyone gets a book at the book fair. The books available that the students get to select from will include books purchased with money we have earned at previous book fairs as well as books that are donated in this book drive.
Then join us anytime March 3rd through March 5th at Jersey Mike’s Subs. You can order in the restaurant, over the phone, or through the app to support our school. Gift cards also count towards the fundraiser.
