Santa Project
LSMS Santa Project 2023
As December approaches, it is time once again to get ready for the LSMS Santa Project. This is the 38th Annual Santa Project for Lowell Scott. It is our goal this year to raise at least $7,000. To do this, we need everyone’s help to donate change from his or her pockets during the collection period of Nov. 27th – Dec. 8th. A container will be provided to each classroom for Santa Project money. Our “elves” will be checking for any money collected each day. Teachers collect money during the day, and money will be picked up during 7th/8th periods. As usual, there will be a competition between the grades. Additionally, the winning grade level will have the opportunity to participate in a game with surprise guests.
Parents, YOU can contribute to this worthy cause be donating to LSMS Santa Project. Your donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
Along with our teachers, the success of the Santa Project depends on your support and involvement!
We continue to have more and more students and families here at LSMS that need holiday help. Last year we collected nearly $9,000 through students and staff to service 85 children in 40 families from our boundary area. We hope to be able to do that again this year! The generosity of our students and faculty helped make the holidays very special for many people. Remember donations are used to purchase gifts and food certificates for students and their families in need at LSMS and our feeder elementary schools. We will be collecting change EVERY DAY by 7th/8th period. In the past, our students have become extremely involved and enjoyed the competition between the grade levels and or between or within teams.
Here at school we will encourage students to give anything they can, and show our own personal support for the project, especially through attitude and enthusiasm. However, we understand that we have students who may NOT be able to give (that is why we are doing this of course).
If you know of any students in our school that might need our help to make the holidays brighter, please notify a Lowell Scott counselor no later than Wednesday Nov. 15th. This information will be kept confidential.
Candy Cane Donations
Candy Cane sales will be available to students every day during Santa Project. We are looking for donations of Candy Canes. The Candy Canes can be of any flavor and in any amount. Candy Canes can be delivered to the front office or to Mrs. Maupin (room 1) beginning Monday November 6, 2023 and ending Friday December 8, 2023.

Student drop off and Pick Up
Parents/Guardians,
Do not use the bus parking lot for drop off and pick up. It is intended for buses and there is a lot of student traffic crossing between the main school building and the busses. Parents should use the lots in front of and east of the main building.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep students safe.
Attendance Line
If your student will miss school or be tardy to school, parents should call the attendance line to excuse the absences.
Contact the attendance secretary, Debbie Stoldt, if you have any questions. Call 208-350-4060 or email stoldt.debbie@westada.org
PowerSchool
PowerSchool is a great tool for parents to keep track of student grades, attendance, locker and bus assignments, state test scores and more. PowerSchool is also facilitates the connection between
parents and school staff. Please make sure your household contact information (email and phone numbers, especially) listed in PowerSchool is always up to date. That will ensure that you receive important communication from the school and the staff.
This year the medical history and consent forms have been updated in PowerSchool. Please make sure that you update the information and permissions in that online form so your student can receive the appropriate medical attention at school. Students who do not have signed consent in PowerSchool will not receive
treatment from the nurse.
If you need any assistance accessing PowerSchool, please contact us at 208-350-4060.
From the Registrar
Please contact the Registrar, Heather Whitaker, at least one day prior to your student's last day if you will be withdrawing your child. We have a simple form to complete to ensure a smooth transition. Mrs. Whitaker can be reached at 208-350-4060 or whitaker.heather@westada.org
