Principal Message
Dear Sequoia Families,
Things seem to be changing rapidly regarding safety precautions at school and in the community around COVID-19. Please be on the look out for texts, emails and push messages today and in the coming days from the district office regarding possible school closures or plans moving forward after spring break. Depending on those decisions, I will keep you posted on our Fine Arts Day plans for March 27th.
A little happy news might help during this uncertain time. Our students raised over $12,000 and read over 100,000 minutes during our Read-A-Thon! That is amazing! I look forward to celebrating our school, class and individual accomplishments for our Read-A-Thon upon our return from break. Thank you for your encouragement to students to read each night and meet their goals. We are building scholars at Sequoia and I'm proud of all their efforts!
Earlier in the year, Mr. Tayler and I did a podcast on Resilience in Kids During Difficult Circumstances. Although the challenges are different than we experienced in October, we thought it might be helpful to listen again if your child seems to be experiencing any anxiety or difficulty during this time. I've linked the podcast below.
I wish you a safe and healthy spring break. We will be in touch soon about further updates.
Mrs. Clark
PS. Remember, today is the due date for filling out the 2020 Enrollment Projection Form to help us plan for next year. Click the link if you haven't already done so: https://forms.gle/HBN4DZCpd5qc687V8.
Sonoma County Library Resources
Sonoma County Library has a Databases for Students available through the Library website homepage: https://sonomalibrary.org/ I've also included a PDF of available resources that may be of use to you during or after our spring break time.
FYI: All Library events have been cancelled through the end of March, but the Libraries remain open to the public.
