Mask Recommendations
Parents, as you may know the mask mandate has been lifted for schools. We are working hard to support our students as we transition to a mask recommended model for our schools. A few reminders while we are making the transition to mask recommended.
- Everyone will have different feelings about this, and whatever you are feeling about it is ok.
- It's perfectly fine for you to choose to wear a mask or not to wear a mask, and your decision can change from day to day based on how comfortable you feel.
- Students who choose to wear a mask shouldn't be made to feel that they are silly or unnecessarily fearful.
- Students who choose not to wear a mask shouldn't be made to feel that they are irresponsible or uncaring.
- If students are struggling with how to feel about this or the right decision to make, encourage them to talk to their parent, a teacher, the social worker, or another trusted adult.
Please help us make this a smooth transition by talking with your children about kindness and respecting each individual's decision. Our community has accomplished so much together, and I am confident that we will transition smoothly into this next chapter.

The parent/guardian survey can be found at this link. To log in, you'll need to put in an email address (which you'll only receive 1 confirmation email when completed and submitted), our county (Cook), and then our school (if you begin typing Walker, the elementary school W W Walker will come up for you to select.
