MP3 Campus Classes

We are so excited about another fantastic year partnering with your family at MP3! The staff has been preparing to make this a great year for your child. Each month you'll receive an MP3 newsletter as well as a weekly newsletter from your SLPC. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read the information about MP3 campus. The first day of campus classes is Monday, September 11th from 9:00 am-2:25 pm. Students are welcome to arrive at 8:55 am and dismissal will begin at 2:22 pm. Kindergarten is half-days with two sessions this year. The morning kindergarten class will meet from 9:00 am -11:25 am and the afternoon kindergarten class will meet from 12:00 pm-2:25 pm. MP3 is excited to host a campus open house on Wednesday, September 6th in preparation for the first day of campus classes on Monday, September 11th. During the open house, families are encouraged to visit their SLPC's classroom to pick up their child's campus schedule and information packet. Schedules can be found in SchoolData as well. Please feel free to walk from classroom to classroom with your child to get familiar with their campus schedule. To accommodate parking we will have staggered start times by family last names for this drop-by event.

Please take advantage of the open house opportunity to walk your child to their classes before the start of campus classes. Our goal will be to utilize the drop-off loop on the first day of campus classes which helps with the flow of traffic. Also, with safety and health protocols we will not be able to have parents in classrooms when classes are in session. We greatly appreciate your support!

We are excited to welcome your child to their first day of campus classes. We are asking all families to please use the drop-off loop. Please have your child exit on the passenger side for a safe transition to the sidewalk. Students are welcome to arrive beginning at 8:55 am. Staff will be present to let you know when it is time for your child to exit your vehicle.

We are continuing our end of day parent pick up loop and will use a system to make it more efficient for dismissal. Families will use the following system:

• Family Name Card: Each family will be given two family name cards. Please keep them handy in your vehicle(s) and show the name card through your front window to the attendant in the pick-up loop.
• Pulling into school: When you pull into the loop in front of the school a staff member will be present to view your family name card. The attendant will contact the school office to populate a spreadsheet in the teacher's classroom and your child's name will be highlighted in green. That will let the teacher know you are here waiting and they will excuse your child to walk out to meet you in the vehicle.
• Checkpoints: We have adults at checkpoints in the courtyard and outside to make sure children know where they are going and that they are safe.
• Exiting: Once your child is safely in your vehicle, you will slowly exit the pick-up area and the next set of vehicles will slowly move forward. Please check your blindspot before exiting the pick-up zone.

MP3 will be providing the classroom supplies including an MP3 gold folder for K-8th grade. This will help support home-to-school communication as well as organizational skills.

Please bring the following:

• Water bottle
• Backpack
  
• Pencil
  
• District device fully charged
• Lunch (if not having school lunch)

Please visit our district food service program for free and reduced meal applications, meal prices as well as other FAQs. School lunch deposits can be set up through my mealtime online application.

MP3 didn't qualify for schoolwide free meals. IRE is the only school in the Meridian School District that qualified for schoolwide free meals based on the percentage of qualifying families for free and reduced lunch. However, free/reduced meal applications for the 2023-24 school year are available on our district website with information about the qualifying criteria. Meals will still be available for all students to purchase and prices can be found on the district website.

Be sure to have your child bring their device to school every campus day (fully charged). Our district technology team will be exchanging our 2nd grade students' iPad for a Chromebook as well as issue devices to new students. Thanks for your patience as the technology department is working on scheduling a day to get devices distributed. Please make sure devices are charged and ready for learning each day we have campus classes.
