Worship Service October 22
“Yours, Mine and Ours” with Rev. Mary Gear
We speak often of shared ministry. What is the work of a minister? What is the work of a congregation? And what is our shared ministry?
The worship service starts at 10:00 am.

Preparing for Take-Off
Sunday, November 5, 2:00-4:00 pm.
This short workshop is to help us responsibly leave behind enough information for the people we love the most when we die. They will be dealing with grief. The crucial information we provide will help them immensely in the work that must be done after we die. There is no limit to the number of people taking the workshop, but please use the sign up genius so I know how many are attending.
Remembering Our Heritage
On Sunday, October 29, we will gather in worship to remember where we come from with a ritual to honor our ancestors and our heritage. In preparation for this worship service, please plan to bring to share a memento of a person or event or time from your heritage or OUUC’s heritage. If you attend in person, we’ll have an altar for you to place your item. If you attend online, you will have the opportunity to show and share your item. Together we will write our collective story of who we have been as we imagine the story of who we want to be. With this intention, we will worship together.
See you then.
Rev. Mary, Minister@ouuc.org
Help Us Keep The Kids Happy!
The cupboards are looking a bit bare, please help us out by bringing in kid friendly shelf stable snack donations. We especially love allergy friendly nut free, gluten free foods to have in the mix.
You can put donations directly into the Religious Education Cupboard in the kitchen or drop them off with Anissa or Rev Sara.
Newcomer Buddies
Members and long-time OUUC friends sought to be “Newcomer Buddies” this year and help newcomers navigate and find themselves welcome and engaged here at OUUC. Buddies will be matched with a newcomer and meet with them about 3 times, help find answers to questions, introduce newcomers to others, and generally help ease new people in to our community. Interested? Reach out to Rev Sara for more information.
Trunk and Treat
Save the Date! Trunk and Treat at OUUC on Sunday October 29, 3:00-4:30 pm.
Youth Pumpkin Carving time 2:00-3:00 pm.
If you are able to bring your decorated car, wear a costume, and hand out candy, we need YOU to make this event successful! You can win a cool prize! RSVP to Rev Sara.
LESS THAN 2 WEEKS TO GO!
Thousands of books have been collected and final preparations are underway. Did you leave book collection boxes in your neighborhood? Make sure to pick those up and leave behind this FLYER to invite people to attend the Books, Brownies and Beans 20th Anniversary event on October 28th.
Remember the volunteer pre-sale is on October 27th. If you helped in any way, from collecting books, to sorting, to setting up, or working at the event, we want you to join us the evening before the sale for the first pick of the wonderful selection.
Keep the grocery bags AND smaller easy to carry boxes coming right up to the day of the sale. There are still a few spots open on the SignUp Genius. Don’t’ miss the chance to be part of the 20th Books, Brownies, and Beans book sale.
If you are unable to support BBB by shopping at the book sale, use this link to make a donation directly to this event.
