Monthly Homeroom Calls
Just a friendly reminder to make homeroom calls for both March and April. It's important to keep these calls separate to ensure we cover everything thoroughly. With the end of the year approaching, this is a crucial time for our students and parents. Let's make sure we maintain strong communication with our families to support our students' success. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!
- March HR monthly call checklist linked here. You can also find a Google Doc version here.
- L0 parents are the only ones who receive a text (one way). All others should be getting a call. You can use the HR Checklist Hyperlink to send out to your L0 parents to share schoolhouse items.
- Items that should be discussed includes academic progress, course selection, graduation, spring field trips, CPR, dual enrollment help sessions, awards ceremony nominations and any other events this month.
- Feel free to use this 2-Layer HR Model Cheat Sheet for reference.

Intent to Return: FYI the ITR letters went out to familes from Enrollment Team on Monday. You can read the letter to see directions families may come to you about. This year we are having the Enrollment dept handle questions. If families have any questions direct them to Enrollment.
- The letter can be found on FVHS calendar on 2/28 and also here. If parents cannot get into FOCUS or need help finding the compliance form you have 2 options.
- Contact Enrollment who is over ITR's this year: Directions for all compliance forms and anything about getting into FOCUS can be found on FVSFT Enrollment site . if they are still having trouble they can directly reach out to: flvsk12records@flvs.net 407-513-5350.
- Directions are also the exact same as shared for finding the compliance forms found on your HR Cheat sheet.
You now have the green light to begin posting grades. Keep in mind, if you have an EOC course please do not post grades until after students complete their EOC test. Once you post grades they will not have access to your course content which will help them prepare for the EOC.
Linked here is some information and instructions for issuing grades as well as a slide with important dates. Please review this material before issuing any grades. Below are some important reminders I wanted to point out. This information can also be found in the slides.
- Remember to review and ensure educator shows 100% complete, DBA is completed with at least a 60D, correct assignments have been exempted if applicable, and honors work if applicable are complete with at least a 60D.
- You are posting the grade into FOCUS. Type the numerical grade, and the letter.
- Please only issue passing grades at this time, we are NOT issuing any Ds or Fs.
Zoom Recording Reminder:
Zoom recordings saved to the cloud are saved for 120 days, then deleted. If you wish to be able to access recordings past that time, be sure to download and save them to Google Drive.
GenAI Use by FLVS Employees
As a reminder, the only approved GenAI platform for FLVS employees to use is Microsoft CoPilot. Please make sure you are logged in with your FLVS credentials. Do not enter any PII or FLVS proprietary information/content. Per the FT Faculty Handbook, teachers are expected to familiarize themselves with the FLVS Artificial Intelligence Strategic Vision which includes responsible and prohibited use of GenAI.
Homeroom Model
Thank you for continuing to work to help improve our systems so we can provide the best support for our students/families. See below for some references, including the link to the slide deck and tracking sheet from our meeting.
Layer 1: HR Monthly Calls
- FVHS Monthly Call Checklist- found on last day and first day of every month on FVHS calendar
Layer 2: Weekly SPR Texts or Calls: Must be completed and logged by Wednesday COB weekly!
2 options of where to find SPR Weekly SPRL1-L3 lists. Either one is fine. Next year we will only use SPR Power BI Dashboard.
- New SPR Power BI Dashboard- access will start next week!
Tracking Sheet: One idea to help you organize homeroom could be using a tracking sheet. Gina previewed one during our meeting. I linked it below, if you have any other suggestions, feel free to share with everyone.
Testing Information
Thank you so much for being the first level of support for our families during testing season. Here are a few tips to ensure our families are receiving the proper communication leading into state testing.
- Use the PowerBi dash to verify testing dates with families. You can see which tests a student needs to take by looking at the five columns after Gender. If the student is expected to take a test, you will see the test name written in that field. If you see an N/A, that means they don't need to take a test for that subject area. The date columns after that will give you the exact dates that have been scheduled with the schools, followed by the time they need to report to that school.
- If there is no date in a column but you see that they are supposed to take a test, that just means that the testing team has not heard back from the school.
- Families should be encouraged to confirm testing dates even if they have only received one or two dates. With the BEST Writing around the corner, we want to make sure they are confirming the dates they have as soon as possible. They will receive another e-mail once additional dates are added to confirm a second time.
- Please refer to the image below for the meaning of codes used in either the status column or other fields.
- If a family states that they are unable to attend on the date provided then they need to complete the Make-up Request form. Here is the response you can use to the family:
Thank you for letting me know. FLVS Assessment Specialists will make every effort to work with the school to acquire a make-up date. However, due to school schedules not all requests will be met.
If you are not provided a make-up date the original date will be the date of testing. Please complete this survey Makeup Request HS Spring 2025 and the district assessment team will process your request. The following information will need to be included in the form: Test for which the make-up is needed, reason for not being able to attend, and dates you are unavailable.
Keep in mind, families are not allowed to "request" dates and times for testing. We have to go by what has been provided to the testing team by the school/district.
Students are expected to bring a valid or state issued photo ID to testing: FLVS photo ID card, state photo ID, permit with picture, passport, military ID. If they need an FLVS student ID, you can provide them this link.
For test lengths/number of questions, please refer to the chart below.
If you have any other testing related questions, check out this FAQ sheet that the testing team has provided. You can also ping myself or Collin Campbell if you have additional questions. Please do not reach out to the testing coordinators.
