Dear Faubion Families,
Happy last day of school! Congratulations to your student and you as we wrap up this unprecedented year. In spite of a global pandemic, our students persevered and grew in so many ways. They definitely have earned their summer break.
Before break officially starts, I wanted to take a moment to update you as to what to expect moving forward. As you know, Principal Donna LeJeune will be leaving Leander ISD at the end of the year. We are grateful for her leadership and dedication to Faubion over the past two years, and we wish her all the best in her next endeavor. Knowing that finding the right next leader for Faubion is critical, we have already started looking. So, I wanted to take this opportunity to explain the process and how you will be involved.
The position is posted on our district website and we are starting to read through applications. Candidates will be identified to move on to the HireVue (electronic interview) stage. At the same time, we are sending out a survey to parents and staff seeking information about the attributes that you are looking for in the next leader. You can find the survey here. Please know that this survey is intentionally left as an open-ended response so that we can gather as much information as possible. All responses are read, and overarching themes are shared with the interview committee. Please complete the survey by 5 pm on Friday, June 4.
The next phase in the process is a screening interview of potential candidates to determine who will move to the full committee interview. The full committee interview will involve district leaders, campus staff, and three parent representatives. As partners in the education of your child(ren), it is important for us to have your voice in the selection process of the next principal.
If you would like to be considered, please submit your information here by 5 pm on Friday, June 4. We will notify you if you have been selected by the end of the day on Monday, June 7. We do anticipate high interest in serving on the interview committee, thus representatives will be selected through a random drawing. We are tentatively scheduling the full committee online interviews (Zoom) for Tuesday, June 15th from 5:30-8:30 pm. Parent representatives will need to be able to commit to the full evening beginning at 5:30 pm.
