Principal's Message
Dear Mustang Families,
Spring is a season of rebirth and regrowth. In education, the feeling is made palpable in the halls with students and teachers. Even though we can’t see smiles through masks, we’re seeing a lot more of those happy eyes around the new building, whose wide halls and various study spaces have allowed us the opportunity to bring back so many of our students to in-person learning.
Beginning this Sunday, residents of the City of Falls Church ages 16+ will have access to the COVID-19 vaccine. This means many of our high school-aged students will have the opportunity to get vaccinated!
Below, you will read about other familiar Springtime school occurrences, all of which we are happy to see return…in modified forms.
Thank you all for your continued support throughout this challenging school year,
The Mustang Admin Team

Ticket request information will be shared soon.
Quarter 3 SBL&G Information
The quarter three Standards-Based Learning & Grading (SBL&G) report is available on PowerSchool. Dr. Dippold, MYP Coordinator, created a brief video and slides which show where to find your child’s current progress in SBL&G courses through the first three quarters. For SBL&G courses, please use the Q3 current progress comment instead of Y1 to see your child’s best fit score . You can use the conversion chart (to see your child’s current letter grade progress) and final criterion grades will be determined at the end of fourth quarter.
9th grade students will review their current progress in all classes using the MYP report card during a Stable Group video lesson early next week and complete a reflection assignment identifying current strengths, areas of growth and action steps. The video will be shared on Schoology with all students taking a SBL&G course.
Spring SOL Testing Dates Set
The State of Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) tests will be administered across a wide swath of grades and subjects beginning in May. You can see the full SOL Testing Calendar here and save the dates so your child can be sure to be present on their test dates. All proper mitigation protocols will be in place.
