Congratulations to our BRV BPA Team (pictured below) who competed at the BPA Regional Leadership Conference on Saturday. Recently our sophomore students took a field trip the New Castle Career Center to learn about the different vocational programs that are offered. Our School Counselor, Mrs. Clone, has announced that any sophomore who is interested in applying to the Career Center next year to come sign up in her office before Christmas Break. The FFA is doing their annual food drive for the Mooreland Food Pantry. Below is a list of items that the pantry needs. Items will be collected until Wednesday, December 14th. If you have any questions, please reach out to the FFA Sponsor ZoeAnn Chernowsky (zoeann.chernowsky@brv.k12.in.us).

Textbook Rental invoices for the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year have been sent out via mail. You can pay by cash, check, or My School Bucks (there is a fee). If you have any questions, please contact Diane Inman (diane.inman@brv.k12.in.us).

Also, please keep an eye on your student's lunch account and add money as needed. You can put money in his or her account by cash, check, or My School Bucks (there is a fee).

Your Blue River Valley Vikings will be taking on the Wapahani Raiders at the beautiful Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Friday Dec. 30. We will play the nightcap and should start around 7:30 to 8:00PM. Tickets can only be purchased online using the link below. Let's show everyone what basketball is all about. The state's best Pep Band will also be in attendance to bring the BRV atmosphere to this amazing venue. Let's pack the place with our Viking Blue!

Tickets are $11, with $1 going to Blue River Valley when purchased using the link. There will be no hard tickets sold for this event, and tickets at the door the day of the event will be $16. Future E-Learning Days at Blue River Valley Jr/Sr High School:

As a reminder, the requirements for e-learning days from the state of Indiana have changed this school year. With winter weather season upon us, please be aware of the changes to our Non-Planned E-Learning Days.

Jr/Sr High Student Synchronous E-Learning Requirements:

1. Students must log on and attend live instruction through Google Meet from 8:30 am - 11:55 am. They will spend 25 minutes in each of their seven classes. Attendance is required to be taken for the state.
2. Outside of the live-instruction times, students are required to complete e-learning assignments as they have done in previous e-learning days.
3. If there are any questions in regards to the e-learning assignments, please contact the teacher via email.

Just a few Updates and Reminders to help the school year continue to run smoothly.

• Illness - Over the past couple of weeks, we have had numerous students and staff members that have been ill. Please remind your child about the importance of properly washing hands frequently with soap and water. If your child is going to be absent from school, please let the office know what symptoms your child is experiencing.

• Car Riders Pick-Up Line - Students need to be picked up in the circle drive outside of the main entrance only (Door 1). Students are NOT permitted to walk across Viking Trail to get in cars parked at Irvin Park. This is a safety concern for our students as well as the drivers. Please help us by reminding your child and waiting patiently in the pick-up line.
