The Lion Line

A Letter from the Headmaster
Welcome back,
I pray all have had a restful and enjoyable Christmas break with family and friends. Our First Semester Virtue Awards Ceremony was an excellent opportunity to honor those scholars who have exhibited our school virtues. The following are some reminders from the Parent and Scholar Handbook that we would like to highlight as we enter the second semester:
- For the safety of our faculty, staff, and scholars, cell phone use is prohibited while in carline. Pay attention to other vehicles and children.
- Morning walkers, parents are to walk scholars along the drive to the end of the covered walkway.
- If you have signed up for your scholar to be a walker at the end of the day, please be available to meet them at the end of the drive at dismissal (If parents are not awaiting their student, the student will be returned to the front office for pickup).
- Uniform guidelines begin on page 50 of the Parent & Scholar Handbook. However, some areas that we are seeing recurring violations:
- white socks/ tights being worn with uniforms (other than P.E.)
- uniform items should only be SJCA Lands End (unless you are a new scholar within our three week grace period)
- Stryker P.E. vendor gear only.
- Boys missing ties on formal days.
- Student absences: You have three days after an absence to send in an excuse note to the front office. Email notification to your scholars teacher does not quality as a notification to the front office.
Parent pickup in carline ends at 3:15 p.m. (1:15 p.m. on Wednesdays). If you arrive after carline has secured, you will need to come into the office to sign your scholar out.
Please watch the calendar for upcoming events. We are building intelligent, virtuous American citizens together as a team.
Mr. Bradley
Headmaster
