Equity and Anti-Racism Task Force

This is the final newsletter of the school year from the Equity and Antiracism Task Force. The Task Force met monthly and included parents, teachers and administrators who undertook a variety of activities to encourage conversations about and embed equity and anti-racist practices across the school community. Please plan on joining the Equity and Anti-Racism conversation at Hyde-Addison in the 2022-23 school year by joining us on Konstella, utilizing the resources in our monthly newsletter and/or participating in monthly Equity and Anti-Racism Task Force meetings that will resume in the new school year.

Over the summer, we encourage you to review past newsletters to explore the variety of books, articles and ideas shared.

Our September 2021 newsletter celebrated and provided resources related to Hispanic Heritage Month.

Our October 2021 newsletter looked ahead to and provided resources related to Native American Heritage Month (November).

Our November 2021 newsletter provided racial justice resources related to Thanksgiving, and looked ahead to Human Rights Month (December) and the winter holidays.

Our December 2021 newsletter profiled Kwanzaa and other winter holidays readers might not be very familiar with.

Our January 2022 newsletter looked ahead and provided resources related to Black History Month (February).

Our February 2022 newsletter provided resources related to Women’s History Month (March).

Our March 2022 newsletter provided more Women’s History Month resources and also celebrated National Poetry Month.

Our April 2022 newsletter celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month.

Our May 2022 newsletter closed out the school year with a recognition of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month and Juneteenth.
