Emmanuel Baptist Church
September 26, 2023
EBC Family,
I love our yearly Lake Service. There is something special about gathering with God’s people and raising our voices in praise in the midst of His creation. There was a lot of joy as we celebrated those who decided to surrender their lives to Jesus and follow Him in believer’s baptism.
This Sunday morning at 9:30, I will be leading a class called “Next Steps” for those who want to learn how to follow Jesus after salvation and baptism. We will meet in the classroom next to the Church Office. Anyone is welcome to join us if you would like a refresher on the basics of following Jesus.
I was so pleased by the great turn out last night for Sunday Night Seminary. I appreciated your engagement and the meaningful discussion time. It’s not too late to join us! We will be meeting Sunday nights this Fall at 6:00 p.m. for this 10 week course. You can also watch class videos online for any weeks that you miss. Send me your email address and I’ll send you the video link. If you want to do further reading, you can purchase the textbook “The Lion and the Lamb” by Andreas Kostenberger from Amazon. (This week’s assignment is chapter 4.)
I’m grateful to belong to the EBC Family,
Pastor Clint

Dinner for 8
Dinner for Eight is for EVERYONE! These dinners are a way for the people of Emmanuel to connect with one another. It is also an opportunity to invite friends and neighbors who don’t have a church home to experience Christian community informally. The emphasis is on fun and fellowship, so you don’t have to be a great cook to participate!
Modeled on what Jesus loved to do (see Luke 5, 9, 19, and 22) – We invite you to share meals and Christian fellowship with new friends!
Dinner for 8 Basics:
• Groups of 6 people gather once a month for a meal.
• The groups’ goal is to invite another couple or 2 singles into their group for dinner, making their group a Dinner for 8.
• This is not about meeting with your current circle of Emmanuel friends. This is about meeting new people you might not otherwise connect with.
• Each month, a different couple will be in charge of hosting. It can be at your home, favorite restaurant, or a picnic in the park!

Embrace Grace
Emmanuel Baptist Church is launching a new ministry called Embrace Grace. This group provides emotional, practical, and spiritual support for single, young pregnant women who find themselves in an unexpected pregnancy.
The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower the church to be a safe and nonjudgmental place for these young women to run to when they find out they are pregnant. It is a 12-week program that teaches them about God's love and grace. A at the end we will give them a baby shower to honor them for choosing life and to help provide for their baby’s needs.
We need your help! Would you prayerfully consider coming along side us as we launch this ministry? You can serve weekly in the group meetings, give rides, sign up to bring a meal, or serve at the events that are a part of this program. For more information on Embrace Grace ministries, please visit www.embracegrace.com. If you would like to learn more about how you can get involved, please contact Chelsea Simpson at 580-504-8932
