Title 1 Pre-K applications now being accepted
Applications for Title I Pre-K for the 2023-2024 school year are now being accepted. Applications can be picked up from your school of choice during the regular school day and should be returned no later than April 3, 2023.

News around the District
PSRC Shines at NC Beta Convention
PSRC students brought home more than 30 awards from recent NC State Beta Convention events in Greensboro.
More than 300 students attended the events and participated in a variety of competitions. Students brought home 35 awards including nine first-place State Champion Awards. In addition, Keely Deal, a seventh grader at Prospect Elementary School, was elected North Carolina Junior State President for the 2023-2024 school year.
JROTC program coming soon to PSRC ECHS
A new extracurricular opportunity is coming to upperclassmen at PSRC Early College High School at Robeson Community College in the fall.
For the first time, juniors, seniors, and advanced seniors at PSRC ECHS will have the opportunity to take part in the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program, which is offered at all traditional high schools in the district. Students will take JROTC in the 4th-period block of the school day and will join other JROTC cadets in the program at Lumberton High School. Transportation will be provided.
Driven 2 Excel returns
Beasley Media Group’s “Driven 2 Excel” program, sponsored by Lumberton Honda and Piedmont Natural Gas, is a community enhancement campaign designed to reward high school seniors in Robeson County who achieve high levels of academic achievement and exemplary attendance records throughout the 2022-2023 school year.
In conjunction with the Public Schools of Robeson County and other community partners, Beasley Media Group has joined with local dealerships and businesses to reward qualifying students with fantastic incentives for scholastic performance.
High School 12th graders should reach out to guidance counselors for more information on how to qualify to win a 2022 Honda Civic, just by having great grades and attendance!

PSRC EARNS STATEWIDE Award FOR COMMUNICATION FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW
The North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA) has honored the Public Schools of Robeson County for excellence in communications for the second year in a row.
PSRC earned a total of three Blue Ribbon Awards for outstanding and effective communication. NCSPRA presented the awards during a special ceremony held in High Point in February.
This year, the district received a Silver Award for Publication, Bronze Award for Excellence in Writing and a Bronze Award for Photography.

St. Pauls High, Fairmont High, Lumberton Senior High, Red Springs High and Purnell Swett High 11th graders recently attended the Marksmen College and Career Fair Day!
Students learned about future career paths and possibilities through breakout information sessions.

Title I Planning Meeting is March 1
WHEN: March 9, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
WHERE: PSRC Central Office, located at 100 Hargrave Street Lumberton, NC 28358
WHAT: This Spring Title I Planning Meeting aims to provide parents, guardians, caring adults, and community stakeholders with an overview of the Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy, Title I Parent and Family Engagement Plan, and how Title I is implemented in Robeson County and more.
Local Education Agencies target the Title I funds they receive for schoolwide programs that serve all children in the school. Title I funds are used for children from preschool age to high school, but most of the students served are in grades 1 through 8. Title I funds are used to upgrade the instructional programs for the whole school.
Please make plans to join us to provide necessary, valuable feedback on the Title 1 Policy and Procedures for the upcoming school year.

Save the date: STEAM Literacy Family Night is March 30!
WHERE: Southeastern Agricultural Center, located at 1027 US-74 Alt, Lumberton, NC 28358
WHAT: This STEAM Literacy Family Night is an evening of hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math activities for students and families to complete together. The event includes a range of activities covering different STEAM topics and connections to exciting STEAM careers. You can select a theme such as space or environment. You may also want to connect with relevant standards, especially during testing season. If you are new to STEAM, you can read more about the basics of STEAM education here.
“MY PATHWAY TO COLLEGE” MULTILINGUAL LEARNER FAMILY ENGAGEMENT EVENT IS MARCH 9
PSRC Family, mark your calendars for the “My Pathway to College” Multilingual Learner Family Engagement Event happening March 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Robeson Community College’s Student Center!
The event is for multilingual learners in grades 8-12 and their families. Students, design your dream job poster and bring it to the event for a special prize!

Scholarships are available for 12th grade students
Parents and students, please click the corresponding link to view and apply for available scholarships for 12th graders. High schools have created lists of scholarships available.
To apply for those scholarships, any 12th grader or parent can click on the corresponding links of any high school. For more specific information, students can contact their school guidance counselor.
