News for You:
- Veterans Day: Next Thursday, the elementary is going to have a short Veterans Day assembly. We are encouraging students to wear red, white, and blue. This is not open to families. Thanks!
- Support Staff Subs: The elementary is looking for substitute Parapro and Monitors. Please contact Mr. Katona @ jpkatona@mantonschools.org if you're interested!
- Cold Weather: Cold weather is here! Please have your child properly dressed for outside recess!
- Food Drive: Grade levels are competing on who can bring in the most non-perishable food items for the next two weeks! Students can bring in their food items starting on Monday.
- Christmas Help: If your family is in need and will not receive assistance from other organizations (i.e. Project Christmas) then please contact the Elementary office to get a form to be completed by Monday, November 22, 2021. Forms will not be accepted after this deadline.
- Project Christmas: Saturday, December 11, 2021. If you, or someone you know, need a source of encouragement for Christmas this year, they would love to help with gifts and a meal. Beginning October 18 through December 3, contact Wexford County call 231-779-5205 or 231-468-3204. Missaukee County residents call 231-839-8816 to register.
- Doors open at 8:20, and Dismissal is at 3:10
- Drop-off Lane: Parents/Guardians! Please don't leave your vehicle in the drop-off lane, and please pull forward to allow other vehicles to enter. This WILL help the flow of traffic.
- Parents are strongly encouraged not to contact the office after 2:30 PM to have their child picked up unless of an emergency. The office is busy after 2:30, and it may be challenging to accommodate parents' requests.
- Visitors: Visitors will not be allowed to enter the building this year.
- Please be sure to contact the office and get the proper paperwork for any Medication disbursement or food modification forms for the kitchen. Medication can not be given without paperwork from the school signed by the physician, and this includes Epi-pens and inhalers as well as prescribed and non-prescribed medication. The kitchen cannot accommodate any food modifications without the form from the school filled out by a physician as well.
- PTO: The PTO (parent-teacher organization) is looking for new parent recruits who want to be a part of a great group to enhance the school experience for all students! Please get in touch with Mr. Katona if you're interested in joining! Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 2, at 6:30 PM in the Elementary Library. The doors on Maple Street will be open at 6:15 PM.
- PTO Craft Show: Our annual PTO Craft Show will be on Saturday, December 4! Check out the Manton PTO Facebook page for more information!
- Birthday Treats: We strongly encourage pre-packaged birthday treats again this year. Thank you!
- Water Bottles: Please encourage your child to bring their water bottle to school to help us conserve the number of water bottles distributed each day. It is becoming hard to buy water in bulk, and we might have to stop giving out bottled water. Thank you!
