Mountain View Weekly Update
September 22
Announcements & Updates
- Attention 8th grade parents: Please review the West Point field trip permission slip that was sent home with your child on Thursday. The deadline to submit the permission slip and payment is October 13.
- Picture retake day was scheduled for this past Wednesday, however, due to a scheduling error on the part of School Craft, it did not occur as planned. Retakes have been rescheduled for October 5.
- On Wednesday, September 20, Mountain View Middle School welcomed, Mr. Justin Lordi, who will serve as a leave replacement for Mr. McMurray for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. Mr. Lordi is a recent graduate of Ithaca College and looks forward to bringing his love of music to the students of Mendham Borough. Mr. Lordi can be reached at: lordi@mendhamboroschools.org.
- Important reminder: If you need to drop an item off for your child during the school day, please leave the item (labeled) outside the front entrance, complete the item sign-in on the clipboard, and ring the intercom to alert the Main office. To minimize disruptions, unless the item is urgent, the Main office will not interrupt instruction to inform your child that an item has been dropped off. He/she is responsible for checking the front table. If your child does not realize that they forgot the item, please be sure to check the appropriate column on the sign-in so that the office staff knows to contact your child.
- The STEM lab (Mr. Jorgensen's classroom) will be open for students before school, from 8:00 - 8:30, beginning Monday, October 2 for morning study hall. Students reporting to the STEM lab do not need to sign in at the Main entrance; instead, there is a sign-in at the entrance to the lab. Note that students will not be permitted to enter the building and go to the STEM lab after 8:20, and once capacity reaches 25 students, the lab will be closed.
- The after-school Den Hour, from 3:30 - 4:30, begins on Tuesday, October 3. To sign up, students should use the link on Mrs. Toth's Google Classroom. This year, the Lions' Den will be available after school Tuesday through Thursday for students wishing to complete projects, homework, and classwork, and for those students assigned by their teacher to complete missing work.
