Welcome to McClure Elementary
August 7th-11th
Dear Amazing Marshal Families,
Welcome to McClure Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year! Our McClure staff is thrilled to welcome back all of our returning Marshal families and meet all of our new families. It is going to be an exciting year full of memories, friendships, learning, and growth.
We are so excited for a new year and the opportunity to continue to serve our McClure community. One of the things we are looking forward to is creating a strong home-school partnership with you to ensure the experience is successful not only for your child, but for your whole family.
Here at McClure, we focus first on building relationships. We work to ensure every one of our students feels welcome in our building, builds strong connections with our staff, and fosters healthy relationships with their peers. It is our goal that each class family develops a community feeling centered around positive relationships with their peers and our staff.
Academically, we focus on growth for every child. We teach the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Every student will be instructed in their grade level TEKS, but we go beyond this into small group time and differentiation where we focus on growing your child’s specific skills, whether through intervention or acceleration. Ultimately, it is our goal to develop the whole child: academically, emotionally, socially, and physically to build skills that will be used for a lifetime.
We know how important communication is and we will continue to work hard to ensure you have the best communication throughout this school year. Throughout the year, your teacher will stay in contact with you through conferences, phone calls, email, newsletters, Seesaw (K-2), Canvas (3-5) and remind. Every Sunday we will send out our Marty's Memo -- an email with information about school-wide activities for the upcoming week, events that would be coming up in the next few weeks, and district news.
Be sure to follow us on social media on our McClure Elementary website, McClure Elementary Facebook page, and on Twitter @McClureMarshals.
Another key to our success is strong parent involvement. First, we encourage you to join our McClure PTO. Our amazing McClure PTO is 100% focused on helping to support our students. Second, please volunteer! There are volunteer opportunities as frequent as once a week, or as infrequent as once a semester. No matter who you are, what your skill set is, or how much time you have to offer, we can always find a way for you to be involved. Please also follow our McClure PTO on social media on the McClure PTO website, McClure PTO Facebook page, and on Twitter @McClurePTO.
We want to personally thank you for your ongoing support as a parent and community member. Your feedback is valuable, important, and necessary. You are a partner in this process with us as we set out to provide the best education possible for our McClure Marshals.
Be on the look out for the next Marty's Memo as we move closer to the beginning of the school year.
Respectfully,
Jennifer Harrison,
Principal

23-24 ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures - The Safety of Our Marshal's is Our #1 Priority
ARRIVAL MAP
It is imperative that we all follow our arrival and dismissal procedures in order to keep all of our Marshals safe. Your student may be dropped off through carpool lane or parent walk up in the morning. If you are walking your student up to the front entrance, you will need to park in the South parking, cross the crosswalk, and then follow the sidewalk up to the front doors. Please DO NOT use the handicapped parking spots if you do not have proper permitting. Please follow the traffic flows on the maps below in order to allow our traffic to flow smoothly.
DISMISSAL MAP
If you are picking your student up in carpool or parent walk-up, please make sure you have your McClure student pick up number with you for the 23-24 school year. For safety reasons the color of the tag changes yearly. Staff members will only release your student with the current year's tag.
Please use the correct location for your student's dismissal.
Please DO NOT park in the bus lane at any time during the day. This includes arrival and dismissal. The fire lane is for Daycare, School Buses and emergency vehicles only!
