Fall weather is finally upon us! As we say hello to fall temperatures we say goodbye to our first round of NWEA testing. Teachers will be using this data in upcoming weeks to dive further into readiness of your individual students. We will quickly be approaching the end of the first quarter on October 4th. We will be sending home first quarter report cards digitally via school messenger just like the first mid-term reports. If you did not receive the mid-term report through email please contact our main office in order to receive assistance on setting this up.

Crawfordsville High School will be participating in a reunification drill on October 15th. The reunification site for the high school is Crawfordsville Middle School. This drill will occur in the morning, so you will notice more "activity" than normal during this time. We encourage you to avoid making appointments to have your student pulled from school, as this may be difficult with the drill taking place. CHS looks to complete our entire district practicing this safety drill of reunification and we look forward to what we will learn from this safety drill. If you have students at CHS and would like to participate in the drill please contact CHS for further information.

We have started our career cafe programming this month. Each Thursday students will be able to hear a speaker talk about their job. We will need speakers from all types of trades and careers. It's fairly simple in that you talk about your own career path, the training needed and about the job itself. Students interested in your type of job will get their lunch and listen while you present. Each lunch session presentation ends up being about 20 mins long. There are 3 sessions between 11:40 and 1:10.

The Annual, CMS Community Information Fair will be held during our Parent open house on October 10th from 4:30-6:30pm. The community information fair will be located in the cafeteria and parents can expect to find booths with youth and family resource information from various community agencies, organizations and businesses.

If you work for an agency, business or organization that would like to share it's information with our parents. Please contact Donna Wilson in our guidance department to reserve a table. 362-2992

Information went home this past week on the Springfield Trip that 8th graders will be going on October 17th. If you did not see this come home please ask your student about this information. The trip will be a $50 cost and if you need financial assistance please contact Sherri Linn here at the main office at 765-362-2992. We want all students to go on this wonderful trip!

The CMS Open House will be October 10th from 4:30 - 6:30, so please get this on your calendars! This is a great opportunity to meet your student's teachers, as well as tour our facility and see where your student's classes are.

Our annual fall spirit week will take place October 7th-11th. There will be opportunities for students to dress up each day at school, a pep rally on Tuesday October 8th during school, followed by our annual Fall Spirit Night. Students can sign up and stay after school to watch a movie. Pizza and drinks will be served and then all participants will go to the 7th and 8th grade volleyball games to cheer on our Lady Athenians. In order to participate, all students will RSVP with their advisory teacher September 24th-27th. They must turn in $2 to their teacher when they reserve their spot to help cover the cost of pizza and drinks. When students reserve their spot they are required to participate in all parts of the evening- movie, dinner, and the game. Parents will pick up their student at the conclusion of the games.

Our girls and boys soccer teams are the county champs! The ladies cross country team swept the county and were recently crowned the Tiger Cub Invitational champs! #rockthegoldandblue

We want to remind parents that our spirit shirts are for sale in the front office for students for $25. These shirts are for students only and serve as an athletic pass for ALL home athletic events.

Parents and family members can purchase single or family passes for the games at the front office as well. These passes will get you into all regular season home events.
