Assalamu alaikum parents,

I pray everyone is doing well in sha Allah. At our morning ASSEMBLY last week, students participated in a fun activity including sharing their favorite memory from Sunday School. All students were given Index Cards and were asked to write about a special memory, something they learned that was interesting or something they did that was fun. Some students also got a chance to share some of their favorite memories.

Last week was also review for Final Exams which start from this coming Sunday (5/14). I pray all students do well in sha Allah and pass with flying colors!

8th Grade Graduation In Shaa Allah!

Our 2023 Sunday School Graduation and Awards Distribution Ceremony is going to be held on June 4th in shaa Allah and all parents are cordially invited to attend. While it is a special occasion for all students, it is especially important for our 8th graders as they graduate from Sunday School in sha Allah. To celebrate this milestone, we provide opportunity to our 8th grade students to deliver a speech if they want and talk about their experience as a Sunday School student and how it helped them to form a bond with the masjid, make muslim friends, and gain islamic knowledge. For any 8th graders, who would like to give a speech, please submit your typed speech (using google doc or word document) to ifnss.principal@ifnonline.com by MAY 21st. The speech should be 1-3 minutes in length and NOT exceed 3 minutes. We will review and select 1-2 8th graders in shaa Allah who can deliver a speech on graduation day (June 4th).

TEACHER APPRECIATION - Sunday MAY 21st, 2023

IFN Sunday School is planning a Teacher/Staff Appreciation Lunch for all our amazing staff members on May 21st, 2023. However, I also want parents to have an opportunity to show their appreciation to teachers as well. Any parents, who wish to to contribute towards a small gift for ALL teachers, can send $10 in an Envelope labelled "Teacher Appreciation money" and give to one of their teachers by MAY 14th. You also have the option to Zelle $10 to 847-772-1869 with a Note: Teacher Appreciation money. We will use all the money collected to buy small tokens of Appreciation for teachers which will be given to teachers on the Staff Appreciation Lunch on May 21st in sha Allah. This is optional and voluntary. I would like to add that the best thing any educator could ever ask for is a note to say how they positively impacted our students' lives. If you do not wish to contribute monetarily, please consider a handwritten note, email, or card to send in and show your appreciation for everything our teachers and staff do all year to support our children ma sha Allah.

FIELD DAY Rescheduled to May 21st in the PM (11:30 - 1:00) in sha Allah if Weather permits!

We are now planning to hold the Field Day on the last day of Sunday School in the PM (11:30 - 1:00) in sha Allah if the weather is okay. We would love to have Parent Volunteers come and help out with this event. Call for Youth Athan Candidates!!

*Important! Call for Athan Candidates *

Alhamdulillah IFN Religious Committee has started an initiative to have a schedule for qualified youth to give Athan and Iqama. This in shaa Allah will be a good way to have the youth engaged in the masjid.

I need your help with letting me know who among our youth have good voice and clear Arabic pronunciation for Athan. For those candidates, please send a voice recording for them giving Athan/Iqama (recorded at home by phone) to *Br. Mohamed Eslam (352-246-8871).* You can also add their names of THIS google sheet

The *recordings will be shared with the IFN Religious Committee for approval* for the candidate to be included on the list of qualified people.

Textbook Return!

Please remind your children to return their Textbooks (that are in good condition) to Sunday School on May 21st (last day of Sunday School) and receive a prize!
