"Reading Café"
One of our 4th grade students said, "The thing I enjoyed most was getting to read all kinds of books that I normally wouldn't choose." Another student shared, "I 100% recommend and also, the service was awesome!"
"We were overwhelmed by the positive things our students had to say in their reviews. We will definitely bring back the "Reading Café" in the future," says Mrs. Gerard. For the month of October, our library crew plans to continue exploring genres with students more in depth as well as continuing education about ways to use the library.

WATCH D.O.G.S Kick-off Event
On Wednesday, October 11 at 6:00 p.m., we will host our annual Watch D.O.G.S. kick off event! This program is a great opportunity for male family members to be involved in your child's school. It provides a glimpse into your child's school day, allows for additional positive male role models and brings joy to all! The evening will be a short informational session. Dinner will be provided as well as childcare. We hope to see you there!
Learning to read environmental print is a critical pre-literacy skill. Point out the print that surrounds you. Read and talk about the words you see in the world around you. There’s lots to read—signs, recipes, cereal boxes, instruction manuals, bus schedules, news, maps, and menus. Use daily opportunities such as time spent in the car, on a walk, or at the store to intentionally point out letters and words around you.
TREAT NIGHT
Our annual PTO Treat Night is Thursday, October 19, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Come one, come all and show off those costumes while roaming our halls for treats. We will have a costume contest starting at 6:15. *A flyer will be coming home with additional information for this event. If you can donate a bag of candy, your name will go in for a drawing for some great gift cards!
ATTENDANCE INCENTIVES
As we strive to find a variety of ways to celebrate our students' accomplishments, we'll be starting this month celebrating students who have excellent attendance, 95% or higher. We will recognize these students monthly at our celebration assemblies.
