Superintendent's Update - 6.9.2023
Dear CPS Community,
As we reach the end of another remarkable school year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to everyone. Each school year is a journey that we embark upon together filled with growth, learning, and countless memorable moments. Now, as we stand less than a full week before summer break, it is amazing to reflect upon the achievements from this past school year because of the hard work, support, and dedication of our students, families, and staff. Thank you for remaining resilient, adaptable, and determined throughout the school year. Next Thursday, June 15th, is the last day of the current school year for all students and it is a half day of school. This is the last weekly newsletter of the school year. Newsletters will resume in mid-August prior to the start of the 2023/24 school year.
As we close one school year, we prepare for the next. You can help us prepare by taking our 2023 Family Survey. We are currently surveying Chelmsford Public Schools' families to gain insight into your perception of our schools and district effectiveness. We also want to better understand barriers to families accessing our schools and programs. We need your feedback to ensure we continue to provide high-quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and careers. We partnered with Panorama Education to conduct our 2023 Family Survey. Panorama safeguards your privacy, keeping your responses anonymous. The survey should only take a few minutes to complete and will be a valuable source of information as we work to continuously improve our schools and district. The survey will be open until Friday, June 16th. You may access the survey at the following link or by using the QR Code in the body of the newsletter from your tablet or smartphone. If you have multiple school-aged children, please feel free to fill out a separate survey to represent each individual child’s experience. The first question allows you to select the school your child attends. Thank you in advance for your participation and thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please contact your building principal.
As we bid farewell for now, I want to express my deepest gratitude for allowing me the privilege of being a part of your educational journey. It is an honor to work with the students, families, and staff and witness their growth and achievements. Congratulations again to the Chelmsford High School Class of 2023 as they embark on their post-graduate plans. May your summer be filled with warmth, laughter, and joy. Rest assured that when we reconvene, we will embark on a new chapter together, armed with renewed energy and an unwavering commitment to educational excellence. Until then, enjoy your well-deserved break, make wonderful memories, and return ready to conquer a new school year.
Yours truly,
Jay Lang, Ed.D.

Sophomore Pranav Aburri Impresses in Debut Trip to DECA International Conference in Orlando
He just completed his sophomore year, but the feeling that Pranav Aburri is going to leave a significant legacy at Chelmsford High School is felt by many of his educators. “One of the stronger points he has is the way he carries himself,” said longtime Business Education educator Tom Sousa. Mr. Aburri represented CHS well at the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) International Career Development Conference on April 21-26 in Orlando, where he was judged to have the top performance of his 15-student group in the Accounting Application Series role play.
