Ideas for Busy Families:
In the Kitchen
In this unit, your child is learning about the importance of day and night.
Engage your child in a discussion about day and night. This will help your child better understand these science concepts.
Discuss how day and night are alike and different. To illustrate this concept, talk about things in the kitchen that are alike and different. For example, compare an apple and an orange.
At Bath and Bed Time
In this unit, your child is learning all about home and the things in it.
Walk through your home with your child. Invite him or her to describe items, such as plants, windows, and closets. Having this discussion will help your child to develop his or her vocabulary.
Then invite your child to explore his or her bedroom or sleeping area. Ask:What is this part of your home like?
