CTE Spotlight - Pharmacy Technician Practicum
Students in Mrs. Kite's Practicum of Pharmacy Technician class are preparing for a career in healthcare by working towards being a Certified Pharmacy Technician. This certification will allow them to work in multiple types of drug and pharmaceutical processing jobs. As part of their training for this course, students work as a technician in trainee at multiple pharmacy clinical sites such as United retail pharmacies, hospital pharmacy medication dispensing, sterile IV drug preparation, and surgical pharmacy. This real world patient care experience provides a variety of exposure to different healthcare careers, as well as giving students an opportunity to practice skills and knowledge they have learned in class.

This is an organization that seeks to exonerate wrongfully convicted individuals and deliver justice to families of crime victims through the use of scientific truths and forensic science, including DNA testing (a concept studied by our own Forensics students). If you’re interested in learning more about the organization, visit www.innocencetexas.org. LCP Forensic Science students and supporters have raised over $2100 to date.
This year’s shirts will be a dark heathered forest green. You can choose short sleeve ($15) or long sleeve ($20) and they are the soft style. This year we are also offering a solid forest green crewneck sweatshirt for $25.
