November Newsletter 2022
Amy Belle Elementary
Principal's Corner- Mrs. Kohel
It has been a wonderful start to fall! The weather has been great for the students to enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful colors that autumn brings! As the weather fluctuates, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately so they can have fun at recess.
It was wonderful having families attend conferences this week. Education is truly a partnership! Success happens when we are able to work together with families.
We have been recognizing students for demonstrating positive character traits. Each day we have been announcing their names and giving them a certificate. We have been talking about responsibility in October and will begin working on skill building in the area of Gratitude. You can always talk with your child about what you are grateful for and be intentional around gratitude at home.
I want to take this opportunity to thank our families for all of their efforts to make the PTA Fun Run such a great success. The money raised will benefit our school by funding new interactive boards in the classrooms. It is truly amazing how giving our families and Amy Belle supporters are!
Sincerely,
Katie Kohel
Student absences
State law requires all children to attend school regularly during the school year. By law, students who arrive at school between 8:46 and 9:15 a.m. are considered tardy. Students who leave school prior to 3:30 p.m. are considered absent. State law also allows a student up to 10 absent days, half or full, due to reasons of illness, vacation, appointments, etc. After 10 days your child is considered truant.
- If your child must leave school for any purpose, please bring a note indicating the time he/she is to be excused and the reason for the excuse. If your student will be missing school, please contact the office at (262) 628-7825.
- We encourage you to schedule appointments outside of school as much as possible. If an appointment is made during school hours, please bring a doctor/dentist excuse to the office. The principal is required to send a formal, written notice upon 10 days of accumulated tardiness/absences.
- COVID-19 will be handled like any other communicable disease for all students. Ill and symptomatic individuals may return to school once they are fever/vomiting/diarrhea free for 24 hours without medication and with an improvement of symptoms.
